I was asked about the rising tension between artists and labels.
Here’s the truth:
It’s not artists vs labels.
It’s what happens when talent meets business without understanding.
Labels invest and artists create.
But when there’s no clarity from the beginning,
success turns into conflict.
Too many people enter the music business with talent,
but without preparation.
One of the moments I’m most grateful for this December was being part of the Cleverminds Educational Foundation Royal Party in Warri. ❤️
A free celebration for children from some of the most vulnerable communities in our city, hosted at one of the most prestigious venues, giving them the honor and experience they truly deserve.
Reconnecting with the incredible pupils of Cleverminds Free Primary School, Iyara was special. Seeing them perform “Clever Mind”, an unreleased song we created together during my visit to the school a few months ago, was deeply fulfilling. I also had the honor of presenting the school with a plaque in recognition of our inspiring collaboration and officially announced the song’s release date.
Performing a special set alongside the children and watching them dance their hearts out was pure joy.

November 16th was bigger than a show. It was a tribute to a legacy. ✨
Last Sunday, we celebrated 50 years of my father, Emma Grey, on stage… five decades of music, history, resilience and unmatched contribution to our culture. Standing in that hall and witnessing the love poured out for him moved me deeply.
To the government officials, industry icons, highly esteemed guests, artists, friends and family who honoured him with your presence, thank you. You helped give my father the flowers he truly deserves.
All praise to the Most High! 🙌🏾
This celebration was powered purely by belief, love, grace and a vision to honour a legend the right way.
I’m grateful to everyone who supported this dream and to my incredible team at @themegamindmusic for producing this show with excellence.
I’m proud to have executive produced and creatively directed this historic night, not just as a professional but as a son. Honouring my father in this way will forever remain one of the greatest privileges of my life. 🙏🏾
It’s taken me a week to post. I broke down afterwards and needed time to recover, but my heart is full and the gratitude runs deep.

We transformed the Capt. (Dr.) Idahosa Wells Okunbo STEM and Innovation Center at Clever Minds Free Primary School into our recording studio for the day and what happened next was nothing short of magical. 🤍✨
Each slide shares our beautiful journey of creating a song from scratch. From choosing a theme to writing melodies, lyrics and arrangements and finally hearing the children sing their hearts out.❤️
But this wasn’t just about making music. It was about showing the kids that their voices matter. And believe me, they do.
We are planning to release this song so their voices can be heard far beyond the walls of the classroom.

Yesterday I visited Clever Minds School in Iyara, Warri.
A free primary school giving orphans and less privileged children access to education, food, and a brighter future. ❤️
I almost didn’t go because of the recent ethnic tensions in the city, and Iyara is right at the edge of it. But walking into that school changed everything. It reminded me that in the midst of chaos, we must shine the brightest.
I was welcomed by children full of laughter, curiosity, and hope. We made a song together!
Watching their eyes light up as they sang and clapped was something I’ll never forget. In that room, there was no fear, no division, only joy, hope, and the belief that tomorrow can be brighter. 🎶✨
I want to give a special shoutout to my brother @zionoshiobugie the founder of @clevermindsfoundation and the amazing teachers at Clever Minds School. The work you are doing is nothing short of extraordinary. You are not just teaching children, you are shaping lives, building dignity, and creating a future for them and for our community. 🙌🏾
