UK firms are losing the equivalent of a full working month each year… simply waiting for decisions.
New research from The Meetings Show reveals managers lose nearly 4 hours every week to delayed or unclear decision-making — that’s 25 working days of productivity gone annually 🤯
But this isn’t about effort. It’s about alignment.
Half of leaders say projects regularly stall due to slow decisions, and many meetings still end without clear outcomes. At the same time, while AI is accelerating activity, 62% say it’s actually increasing the need for human discussion, not reducing it.
What’s becoming clear is this: productivity isn’t just about working faster or using better tools — it’s about how effectively teams come together to make decisions and move forward.
And that’s where face-to-face still matters. The majority of leaders say complex and important decisions are made more quickly in person.
We’ll be exploring these findings further at The Meetings Show this June — because in a world of increasing complexity, better collaboration isn’t a “nice to have”, it’s a performance driver.
