Jackie & Mike really said: what if we took a cozy winter weekend, added fresh snowfall, candlelight, an ice-covered lake, all our favorite people, and one very intentional celebration… and made it a wedding? ❄️🥂
Their day at Lake Lawn Resort felt warm despite the snow outside.
Thoughtful details, nonstop smiling, and the kind of atmosphere that made everyone instantly settle in and enjoy themselves.
And honestly, Jackie and Mike are just FUN!
- the kind of couple that makes a whole room feel lighter, and every part of the day reflected that joy they share together.
Winter showed off.
The dance floor delivered.
And these two started married life exactly the way they should:
surrounded by love and having the absolute best time. ✨
When we design a wedding day, we’re always thinking about impact ✨
Two of the most powerful elements? Linens + chairs.
Linens cover the largest surface area in your reception, setting the tone for the entire space. And chairs? They show up in every photo—ceremony, dinner, toasts, all of it.
If you want a design that feels elevated without overcomplicating things, start here. These two details deliver a major visual return and instantly transform your space 🤍

POV: you planned the kind of New Year’s Eve wedding with espresso martinis in hand, disco balls reflecting across a packed dance floor at midnight, and the loudest countdown of your life…
and now every single year you get to ring in the new year kissing your best friend and celebrating another year married.
Just over 20 minutes with Alison, Jon, & Joey, and here’s what I know… 🤍
These two are the very best parents (but we already knew that).
Joey is full of giggles and has his momma’s adorable dimples.
He’s a big fan of forehead-to-forehead “conversations” with dad.
He loves blowing kisses… and eating mom’s hair.
One year old, exactly as he is right now.
There’s something about sessions like this. No big production, no pressure. Just showing up and documenting the way a family endlessly loves each other in their everyday space. It’s the kind of work that quietly fills my soul all the way up.
Happy first birthday, Joey. 🥹✨Thanks for inviting me in, A+J
Designing a wedding timeline isn’t just about logistics. It shapes how your day actually feels.
When couples ask where to start, these are the three things I always suggest keeping in mind:
1. Start with the light.
Your ceremony time affects everything that follows. Work with your photographer to choose a time that gives you the best natural light for portraits.
2. Protect a little sunset time.
Even 10 minutes to step away together during golden hour can create some of the most meaningful photos of the entire day.
3. Build in margin.
When your timeline has breathing room, you feel calmer, more present, and able to enjoy the moments as they unfold.
Your wedding day shouldn't just be a schedule. Make sure you have time to enjoy the day you've been planning to perfection...
And give your day space to breathe.
Tag a couple who’s planning their perfect wedding day. ✨
And planners or past couples, what else would you add as a must-have when building a wedding timeline? 👇
