Note: for those who don’t speak Orkish or Low Gothic I basically used to be a a bit of a Games Workshop fan back in the day, but due to circumstances outside of my control I was forced to give it all up and then I spent the next over two decades pretending that I wasn’t just a Standard Nerd™️!
Of course, now some 24 years later I noticed that my old faction the Orks were a big focus in the latest edition box set, plus special ork character Wazdakka was finally debuting in official miniature form, and I guess some hidden part of my psyche activated again and I found myself craving to join the old hobby again!
So anyway I popped into Games Workshop Worcester where they put up with all of my dumb questions and made me feel right at home, and of course I left with almost everything I needed to try to get myself back into the hobby!
Now I won’t be building this biker badass just yet as I want to get my grubby little claws on the Armageddon boxset first, but I plan to practice my building and painting skills on some low level grunts first, at least until I feel confident enough to build Wazdakka himself... but in the meantime I’ve also preordered Kaptain Badrukk too, so that’s two classic Orky characters for my WAAAGH already!
As they say, once an Ork always an Ork I guess!
Here’s a little throwback to the time “Dangerous” Dave McDave actually won a real wrestling match…
Look, I know we’re now two weeks removed from EVW’s Super Smash Show in Worcester, but apparently I’m STILL not finished milking this experience for every last drop — especially after the ever-talented @frogsplashfotos uploaded his incredible photos from the event, including a few featuring yours truly in this brief moment of glory.
So this post is basically a little photo/video dump celebrating the occasion — featuring some of Frogsplash’s shots (shared with permission), clips from the moment I got to live out a genuine childhood dream, and even footage of my long-running fantasy wrestling roleplay character “Dangerous” Dave McDave as he appears in WWE 2K25 added in at the end because I guess I’m fully committed to the bit now.
Massive love and thanks once again to @evolution.wrestling , everybody involved with the show, Frogsplash once again, and of course that lovely bunch of idiots I proudly call my friends! You know who you are!

Note: seeing myself here has really lit a fire under my ass to finally try to lose some weight. I’ll never be a wrestler and I’ll never have even a third of talent and conditioning the stars of EVW display on every show but I don’t have to spend the rest of my life looking like a sack of shit!

Here’s another 60-second EVW snapshot, this time featuring highlights from last night’s video game–themed Super Smash Show!
I know I say this every single time, but this event somehow topped the last which I’d say is no small feat considering how much we loved the February show in Worcester. And yet, here we are!
Anyway as mentioned in my previous post we saw “Daisy” take on “Mario” in what Mr. Tommy Tumble dubbed a “Super Smash Ultimate Match,” meaning increasingly ridiculous video game antics were thrown in whenever he damn well felt like it, and as you can see from the footage the result was gloriously unhinged chaos! I for one won’t be forgetting this bonkers match anytime soon…
But that was just the OPENING MATCH!
From there, the night delivered nonstop action and comedy as glimpsed within this edit—everything from hard-hitting meaty brawls and technical brilliance to the human pussycat Son Vu Ho giving Alexander Moff a surprisingly adorable photo booth makeover! It all culminated in a wild tag team clash where the rather unfortunate tag partner of Levi Cooper- the Logan Paul knock-off (or upgrade?) Zack Dreamer- got absolutely demolished by everyone, Levi included!
Naturally it all spilled over into a full-on rumble— something we all love here in Worcester— and that’s where my long-running fantasy character, “Dangerous” Dave McDave, finally made his in-ring debut- after all I was included on the poster for this show! Of course I’m no wrestler so I rather clumsily scrambled in but with luck and timing I somehow managed to eliminate both the aforementioned Ry Stevens and Alex Moff while they were distracted with each other to win the match!
Now that’s what I love about wrestling, and with EVW especially. You get heroes vs villains, angels vs idiots, cats vs gingerbread men… and somehow, right in the middle of all that madness, dreams actually can come true.
So a heartfelt thank you to everyone at @evolution.wrestling for making one of mine come true last night.
I love you guys. We all love you guys.
…Except Ry Stevens. Obviously!

Last night EVW made its triumphant return to Worcester’s Tramps Nightclub so the gang reunited for another dive into the brilliantly bonkers world of UK wrestling!
This time the theme was video games, so as you can imagine the chaos kicked off almost immediately with Poké Balls and bodies flying through the air! Heck, the very first bout (featuring @chrisangelevw as Daisy going up against that dastardly @ry_stevens_wres as Mario) even broke out into a full-on Poké Battle mid-match, complete with music, props and absolutely zero chill when it came to innuendos- it’s rated 18 after all!!
By the time the bell finally rang again, my voice was practically gone as predicted! I swear it somehow just keeps getting better and better with every event, and I know we all had a truly amazing time!
Even better, I got to tick off a childhood dream; my old fantasy wrestling alter ego, “Dangerous” Dave McDave, officially stepped into the ring for a match and actually picked up the win!

Throwing a one up for the Tribal Chief last night!
Ok, so maybe the road to Wrestlemania 42 was kind of a bust, and night one didn’t exactly set the world on fire, but night two was at very least something of an improvement, featuring several dare-I-say iconic moments- from Oba Femi conquering the Beast to Danhausen’s tiny parade- and that main event with Roman Reigns and CM Punk was pure cinema!
Of course good or bad, I got to experience both nights with great company so even when this event was being less than thrilling I was still fairly entertained making dumb jokes with the boys!
Even so, I guess they can’t all be amazing…

So yesterday Ghostbusters from across the country converged upon MegaCon Birmingham 2026 for Cross the Streams III — the triumphant return of the UK’s largest Ghostbusters meet-up — and of course, your boy McDave answered the call. No containment unit required…
Full disclosure however; my proton pack stayed at home this time.
Between the logistical nightmare of bringing it to the last big gathering and the fact I’m only now recovering from a nasty bug, I figured it was safest to leave the ghostbusting to the other hundred-plus folk roaming the convention floor with unlicensed nuclear accelerators strapped to their backs!
That said, it was an absolute pleasure to gather once again with my fellow Ghostbusters in celebration of the creativity, the camaraderie, and the sheer number of khaki flightsuits all in one place this beloved franchise has inspired.
Thank you Tony, Mark, Toby and everyone else for consistently making Cross the Streams such a special event.

Just got my hands on the latest Godzilla Funko Pop - in this case it’s a rendition of the victory dancing Godzilla from 1965’s Invasion of the Astro-Monster - alongside a copy of the fully collected Mothra: Queen of the Monsters comic series by Sophie Campbell and Matt Frank!
The last couple of weeks have represented something of a challenge for me recently in regards to my physical health, not that life isn’t hard enough already, but picking up cool little trinkets like these relating to something I’m so passionate about feels like something of a reward for somehow surviving for yet another month, and that’s despite catching a horrible bug and ending up requiring emergency root canal surgery! Lol.
Anyway, I still have plenty of Godzilla Funkos and Comics to get my grubby little mitts on, and that’s before I even think about the “Kei Sei Era”- if you know, you know- so I guess I’ve just got to live for a bit longer, damnit!

Here is but a small taste of just what was on offer at EVW’s Heartbreak Havoc event, but trust me when I say my footage doesn’t really give give this show show justice as being there live was truly something special!
Yet another amazing event from those insanely talented and absolutely delightful folk behind Evolution Wrestling. As I’ve mentioned before I swear these events get better and while it’s hard to top “Big Dick” Oogie’s dive from the dance floor the last time they were in Worcester- at least in terms of sheer balls-to-the-walls insanity- I would still argue this was the best show I’ve attended yet, and arguably its most brutal!
In an event that also showcased the likes of Angels, Cats, Dinosaurs and Penises of varying sizes, the savagery of witnessing Brazen and Riley Robert’s beating the ever-loving crap out of each other was on another level! Big E would have been proud of all this prime cut meat on the table, that’s for sure! Of course I’ve lost my voice yet again from chanting “Fuck Ry Stevens!” as is customary at this point but I’d argue that Tara Blaze is just as despicable!
Anyway, once again I want to give a massive shoutout to the guys and girls who make EVW what it is, as well as give a big thank you to Tramps Nightclub for allowing them to bring pro wrestling to our city! Honestly this was so much fun and I think I speak for everyone when I say we all left feeling pumped up and satisfied!
