Review of Parking Life by Seum
I was given the pleasure of listening to this album early from the lads in Seum and appreciate every second of musical joy I have gotten since then. I guess the appropriate place to start is the beginning!
Parking Life starts with its title track Parking Life opening up with that classic Seum doomy bass tone you expect from Piotr with a slightly more dancey flare that you will hear more of as the album proceeds. The next big thing that hit me was Gaspard's new "clean" vocals, not the classic clean you would expect but a clean style that Gaspard has made his own. As always Fred is keeping everything tight on percussion to keep that doom groove rolling through the track.
Next up is Employee of the Month and this track definitely has that more classic Seum feel to it with the driving bass lines, tight drums and aggressive vocals with a chorus that cleans it up just enough the not get fired from your job for leaving you station fucked. Then we get hit with a breakdown that makes you want to destroy any semblance of tidiness that the chorus brought you!
The third track is a reimagining of Problems from their split with @templeofthefuzzwitch but this time it's done with more aggression and a feature from the Slutch King himself Vince from @dopethroneband with a new verse in French. This remake makes you want to get in the pit and smash the floor and just fuck shit up. 10/10 hype up song in my books!
The next track is Labrador one of the singles released along with a music video. This track I can definitely see getting radio play. It perfectly blends the aggressive doom and bass stylings of Seum with a new Seum style that makes me want to skank and dance around my living room like I am 17 again. Any track that can do that has a special place in my heart and the lyrics drive right into my punk soul. "Cut your tie, bite your master, break your leash like a bad Labrador"
Fifth up is Solutions a fun little recorded phone to a little midlife crisis solution hotline with some funky hold music provided my the Seum crew!

It's a sad time for our local music scene and I want to do something about it! I started a petition to have the Mansion building deemed a historical building so it can't get torn down by new owners and it must host local/travelling music acts.
