Issue 11.2 is out now! In the words of Co-Editor Chelsea Jackson, “The work in this issue captures the multifaceted nature of what it means to be human—in isolation, in family, in community, in society. Many of these pieces are about everyday people carving out lives in a world full of barriers. And yet, even when the odds feel stacked, we keep going, for ourselves and others. That is the real invitation of 11.2: to have the courage to see and sit with what is and to lean into what could be.” We are thrilled to share this with you! #publication #literaryreview #poetry #fiction #nonfiction #art

Happy publication day of Issue 11.1, out today! We hope you’ll be drawn into these pieces and come away with something new and fresh like the seasons changing in front of us. Our coeditor, Chelsea Jackson, invites listening as we engage with the poems and stories within this issue. “Like most of us, I hear things all day. The list is endless. But listening…that is harder to do. It is also crucial. How do we show up? How do we listen, adapt, and listen some more?“ Thanks you, readers and writers, for indulging in the literature, art, and creativity in Issue 11.1. Let us know what pieces resonate with you the most! #poetry #nonfiction #fiction #art #publication Issue art by Kenneth Ricci

Happy release day! In the midst of this busy winter solstice and holiday season, we hope you’ll take a moment to settle into our 10.2 issue. In the words of co-editor A.J. Bermudez, “These are dark days…[but] this community has proven again and again that joy, imagination, and resistance are not only necessary but viable.” We couldn’t think of a better time to share 10.2, an issue full of reflection, wonder, struggle, and courage. Congratulations to each of our contributors, and may we all continue to find solace in one another and in the power of literature.

We’ll close out the evening with a book giveaway and a chat/Q&A with the winners and members of The Maine Review’s editorial staff. The event is free but registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Sign up at the link in our bio, and we can’t wait to see you there!
