I shot this a while back. At the time, it was just another day of figuring things out on set, light changing faster than expected, small decisions stacking on top of each other, trusting my instincts more than the plan. I was behind the camera, focused on making the clothes feel lived in, not posed. Letting moments breathe instead of forcing them.
Looking at it now, I remember how much of the work happens quietly. The waiting. The watching. Adjusting a frame by inches. Knowing when not to move the camera. Fashion is loud by nature, but shooting it taught me restraint, how to listen before reacting, how to let texture, movement, and light do the talking.
I didn’t think much about where this clip would end up. I just wanted it to feel honest in the moment. That’s still what I care about most , making images that don’t scream for attention but hold it if you stop long enough.

Makoko is a living story on water — a place where canoes replace cars, homes rise on stilts, and everyday life moves with the rhythm of the lagoon. Tucked within the heartbeat of Lagos, this floating community reflects resilience, creativity, and deep cultural roots. From fishermen casting their nets at sunrise to children paddling through narrow waterways, Makoko shows a different side of the city — raw, vibrant, and unapologetically alive. It’s not just a place; it’s a testament to survival, tradition, and the beauty that exists beyond the skyline. 🌊🛶✨
Makoko is more than wood, water, and stilts — it is memory, livelihood, and home. As parts of this floating community face demolition, we’re reminded that development should never erase humanity. Behind every structure is a family, a history, a rhythm of life built over generations on the lagoon. Makoko’s story is one of resilience, but resilience should not be mistaken for expendability. Progress should carry people forward, not push them aside. Today, the waters feel heavier — holding stories that deserve to be protected, heard, and respected. 🌊🖤
