What an amazing Irish Retreat. For the last few months we've delved into Irish music on our own, trying to attend sessions when we can, as a way of exploring the history of the Texas Style music we've grown up playing and better understanding the roots of the music we know well. Going to the O'Flaherty Irish Retreat gave us a lot of pieces that we'd been feeling we were missing to play Irish music more traditionally. Ryan attended John McIntyre's guitar class and Katie was in fiddle class with Dylan Foley. We imagine being immersed in Irish music, language, and history the way you are at O'Flaherty's is the closest you could get to experiencing Ireland without actually going to Ireland, and we gained a lot of perspective, knowledge and friends along the way.
We give the camp 10/10 clovers, highly recommend!
