Not much of a sunset, but the light was pretty good. And I was able to catch the train illuminating the bridge. Also ran into @surfnsnowboard and @u4rickbro looking for that magic in the sky. ——— Technical ——— Focal Length: 35mm Exposure: Single at 0.3 sec Aperture: f/13 ISO: 100 ——— Gear ——— Camera: Canon R5 Lens: Canon RF 15-35mm Processing: Lightroom ———

Sometimes you gotta shoot above the clouds when skies are gray. I found this island in the sun while shooting with @ws.lawson and @jpl.arw . ——— Technical ——— Focal Length: 187mm and 200mm Exposure: Single at 1/125 and 1/60 sec Aperture: f/13 ISO: 100 ——— Gear ——— Camera: Canon R5 Lens: Canon RF 70-200 F2.8L IS Processing: Lightroom

This location has always been a bit challenging to photograph. You want color in the sky, but that typically doesn’t happen until the sun is lower. The lower sun means less light on the rock. It’s beautiful either way. For this scene I found this tree to frame and fill in the gaps of the rock formation. I’m curious which one do you prefer? Shot 1 or 2. ——— Technical ——— Focal Length: 84mm, 70mm, 200mm Exposure: 1/25, 1/40, 1/15 sec Aperture: f/11 ISO: 100 ——— Gear ——— Camera: Canon R5 Lens: Canon RF 70-200 F2.8L IS Processing: Lightroom ———

Happy Earth Day! So much to see in this world. Nature was begging me to take this photo. Leading lines that point to the framing of the subject? Yes, please. ——— Technical ——— Focal Length: 18mm Exposure: 1/25 sec Aperture: f/11 ISO: 100 ——— Gear ——— Camera: Canon R5 Lens: Canon RF 15-35mm Processing: Lightroom ———

Swipe to see the full image or visit me on VERO to see how the image was intended to be viewed—full image size and uncropped. I’ve been using VERO for close to a month now. Here are my thoughts. Using Instagram feels tacky. I’m forced into a workflow that compromises my photography. Ads are abundant. There is less of a connection to art/photography. It feels soulless and uninspiring. That’s not a good place to be as an artist. I hope you enjoy this sunset. ——— Technical ——— Focal Length: 35mm Exposure: Exposure Bracketing Aperture: f/13 ISO: 100 ——— Gear ——— Camera: Canon R5 Lens: Canon RF 15-35mm Processing: Lightroom ———

I would love to see all of the talented landscape photographers I follow on IG over on Vero. IG has its place, but I’ve found for photography and meaningful engagement Vero has been refreshing. No algorithm. I see every photo of each person I follow. No ads. My feed is not hijacked by people I don’t follow. Full size still images. I want to see your photography as it was intended. I find myself slowing down to look at each photo instead of speed scrolling to avoid an overload of videos. Let’s connect if you’re on Vero.

It’s been 4 years since I’ve shot at this location. Kinda crazy to think that it’s been that long. One thing I’m now trying to do is shoot the same location multiple times to see what I missed. This time around I placed more emphasis on the foreground instead of the typical shot of the hill. If only that Sunday evening sunset was a little stronger in this direction I would have captured some amazing light. ——— Technical ——— Focal Length: 17mm Exposure: Exposure Bracketing Aperture: f/13 ISO: 100 ——— Gear ——— Camera: Canon R5 Lens: Canon RF 15-35mm Processing: Lightroom & Photoshop ———

Sometimes all you have is a single subject, a field of dead grass, and a few minutes to explore a composition. This is one of those times. No doubt this shot would be a dud without the sky, but what I do like about it is the journey there. Getting outdoors and hiking with other photographers is what it’s all about. Shot alongside @jpl.photography_ . ——— Technical ——— Focal Length: 30mm Exposure: Exposure Bracketing Aperture: f/13 ISO: 100 ——— Gear ——— Camera: Canon R5 Lens: Canon RF 15-35mm Processing: Lightroom ———
