From Maryvale to the GRAMMY®. What a journey.
It still feels surreal to say I’m a producer on a GRAMMY®-nominated album. There were so many nights I wrestled with doubt, questioned my worth, and wondered if I truly belonged.
Seneca once said, “We suffer more in imagination than in reality.” I’ve found that to be so true. You can create the world you live in if you act with integrity, show love and respect to those around you, and always give your best effort.
Much love to Ran for always opening doors and trusting me to be part of his vision. I still remember 2008, after a beat battle, when he walked up and handed me a flyer for his Mega Ran album. Two years later, he pulled up to Trife’s (@theironlycan ) studio to record a verse for Blaze Rock’s (@itsblazerock ) classic “Blessed to Breathe.” That’s where the seed for Black Materia was planted, a seed that would grow into something timeless.
When Black Materia dropped on 1/31/2011, none of us could’ve predicted how far it would carry us. To everyone I’ve ever made music with, from my early K Kamp crew to The Council Productions and beyond, thank you so much.
This isn’t the peak.
This is just the beginning.
Shout out to my bro @roknowledge for the release of his new book. He literally put his life into this release. I am so proud he was able to share this with the world, and I'm glad to have been able to get a signed copy.
I turned 41 today. It was a great day. I always get into a pensive mood on this day. I just think about how grateful I am for my friends and family. All of the amazing people I've met and experiences because of music and photography. I'm really looking forward to next year and hopefully it's the best yet.

#TBT to one of the most crushing days of my musical career, November 2023. I thought we made the greatest thing I could ever make and it made such an impact on my own life. I felt rejected, I felt like we weren’t good enough.
Two years ago, we faced defeat. Heartbreak sucks. Today, we rise.. wiser, stronger and GRAMMY® Nominated.
The dream didn’t change. We never stopped chasing it. And we never stopped believing.
