🔬Research Roundup: More than 80% of bowel cancer survivors are living with chemotherapy-induced pain called peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). No effective treatments are currently available, BUT Professor Joanne Bowen & a team of researchers from Adelaide University is exploring a new approach using non-invasive brain stimulation to help relieve this long-term pain. Last night we were privileged to be invited to @hospitalresearch Impact night!
We knew by being Ambassadors for the @thelongesttable that we were helping raise funds and awareness but WOW, last night we got to hear and see how funds are literally spent. It was incredible to see how it ($$) is helping progress treatment, survival rate and potentially find cures.
It’s so much work to put on an event and hard to always be asking for freebies and donations, but we’ll do it again knowing how much impact it really has - we saw it with our own eyes!
