after about an hour into working on this painting, i found myself sobbing but not quite sure why. by the time i was signing the canvas, i was able to see a representation of every single home i lived in throughout my childhood. i didn’t dive into this painting with that intention quite literally but i did ask my guides to reveal the root of each affect in my life. apparently my journey and survival through fostercare was at the forefront of my mind.
through this experience i’ve found myself really visiting my childhood and allowing my inner child to finally have to space to explore freely, fully protected and empowered. my child self had never known stability, regularity, nor did i give myself the space to color out of the lines. through returning to my canvases, i’m finding myself finally in a space to self provide the stability and regularity my child self was so in need of, while allowing my present self to be as messy and free with my brushes as i please.
for the first time in my life, i truly feel like i’m starting to develop my own painting style and finding my signature. in art school i found myself endlessly frustrated by not being able to fully recognized myself in my own paintings. after spending close to 2 years away from my paints (the longest hiatus i’ve ever had) i have found myself craving my brushes in my hands constantly over the past 4 months. i’ve been painting so much and it’s been one of my biggest joys.

feels kinda surreal to think that i’ve been at this business thing for 4 years now 😭🥹
i’m so grateful to be able to share all of my art forms with my community and to be received with so much love in each space i share in.
4 years ago, i was just doing custom wraps for people who would come buy a stone at my local crystal shop until setting up an etsy account 3 months later. A year after, i had a storefront (in the middle of a global quarantine lol). after opening the storefront, i moved into my car and had to shut down business for a few months. in 2022, i came back even stronger and started sharing my art at festivals. 2023, i began wearing my art on stage at festivals. since the start of 2024, i’ve had the chance to show my wearable art on the runway and present my paintings to crowds at music events.
i’m overwhelmed with so much gratitude and pride for what i do. to share this love and abundance, i’ll be dropping a big surprise tomorrow. stay tuned!👀
