Brown Bandanna extends a sincere thank you to
@houstonlatinofilmfestival for inviting us to be part of such a historic week celebrating film, art, and community. To witness the closing of their 10-year anniversary was powerful, ten years of elevating stories, preserving culture, and creating space for voices that deserve to be heard.
As part of the celebration, we pulled up to
@almaahhtx for the Cumbias y Café gathering, partnered with
@cafeconamigos_htx ,
@chismecafebar &
@friendsofelsalvador with sounds by
@bientejana &
@elturko_sonidero an event that perfectly captured the spirit of the festival. With music in the air, coffee flowing, and people from all walks of life coming together, it was a reminder that film is just one piece of a much larger cultural movement.
While there, we connected with members of the audience who spoke passionately about the importance of these moments. Many shared how spaces like this give voice to stories that often go unheard, while also creating a sense of belonging and pride within the community. It wasn’t just about watching films, it was about being seen, being heard, and being together.
Moments like these reinforce why we do what we do—capturing culture, highlighting voices, and documenting the energy that moves our communities forward. 🤎🥂💐♻️
