Mustang Sally, the song that’s teased out until the very last minute in The Lack of Commitments set.
Mustang Sally is the enduring rhythm and blues (R&B) and soul classic. This clips is from the LOCs session at the Crown Wharf Theatre and features the inimitable Mark ‘Noz’ Norris. The best known version is the electrifying 1966 version by Wilson Pickett, but the song was widely introduced to a new generation through the 1991 film The Commitments. The film's soundtrack version, sung by Andrew Strong, became a huge international hit. ‘Sally’ became a beloved track for soul fans, movie buffs and was the track that launched a thousand soul bands thereafter.
"All you wanna do is ride around, Sally..."
"Ride, Sally, ride"
For audience sing-alongs and call-and-response, this is always the unifying moment to end our show.
”I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)" by The Lack of Commitments and featuring Mollie Angus.
The song is a key track from ‘The Commitments’ movie and a big part of our UK tribute show. This ‘smouldering’ version was captured at the Crown Wharf Theatre.
RESPECT is performed here by The Lack of Commitments and featuring a stunning vocal from singer Tina Ribena. This was filmed at the Crown Wharf Theatre in Stone. Respect is part of the band’s ongoing commitment to performing the best soul classics and usually features in the later part (or second half) of the band’s setlist when performing live....more
River Deep Mountain High
