Hello! Thanks so much for the kind words over the past year as we celebrated 20 Years of The Knife. As today is the one year anniversary of these celebrations we wanted to mark the date with one last treat. Both âManhoodâ from RABID010 and the Revl9n, Tobias Von Hofsten and FPU remixes of âHandy-Manâ are on streaming services for the first time.
Our 20th Anniversary celebrations arrive back at the start. A new green 7â version of 'Bird/Afraid Of You,â the first ever single from The Knife, is available now at the Rabid store. It features brand new artwork by Martin Falck and is ltd to 500 copies. And there is also a new edit of âBirdâ out now on all digital platforms. Also, the music journalist Ruth Saxelby interviewed us about 20 years of The Knife; our music, performances, everything for a new bio. Head to theknife.net for more info :)
In the early 2000 we were told it was common for an artist to have an âelectronic press kitâ :-) This film was our attempt that we did together with Boldfaces.
In the summer of 2003 we filmed the video for âPass This On,â directed by Johan Renck, in a community center in Kista, Sweden. Rickard Engfors was performing in the video; we got the idea from Almodovarâs High Heels.
Some news from The Knife HQ for you. In August a new magenta 2lp edition of Deep Cuts will be released on Rabid Records. If you prefer to stream music, Pass This On (2005 7" Rip) was released today on digital platforms; it is the version we made for our first tour in 2006. Original 7â copies of Pass This On have been discovered and are available on the Rabid Store now. More info at theknife.net
We worked with Andreas Nilsson on âSilent Shout,â he made visual characters and elements for the sounds we had made. None of us, at that time, had been outside Sweden making art. Andreas did some short films to use as acceptance speech/es for The Knife at The Swedish Grammis in 2007, winning the four categories Composer, Producer, Pop Group and Album.
Hello, the 20 year anniversary of The Knife continues! A new 2LP edition of Silent Shout will be available in August on numbered, dark-blue vinyl. To celebrate, weâd love you to join The Knife for a special online broadcast of our 2006 performance at Gothenburg venue TrädgĂĽr'n. Watch online on May 14th at The Knifeâs YT and FB channels 8pm CET. Link in bio.
Thanks so much for the amazing, positive reception to the vinyl edition of Tomorrow, in a Year. There are further copies available to pre-order on the Rabid store now and other places soon! â

We were commissioned to write the music for Tomorrow, in a Year as @hotelproforma wanted to make an opera about the theory of evolution and Darwin ideas. We worked with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock and aimed to capture the huge width of Darwin and the evolution theme. â

Here are somes stills from a performance taken by Claudi Thyrrestrup. You can watch a brief video of a performance on the link in bio.
