Excited to announce my first solo exhibition in collaboration with the good folks at @methodindia
‘Where India Dries Its Clothes’ is an intimate visual exploration born from my decade-long observations during my extensive travels across India. What began as an exercise that was simply visually interesting has evolved into a unique reflection on the intricate lives and landscapes that define this diverse nation.
Doors open on Sunday, 26th May up until Sunday, 30th June 2024.
Do drop by, it will mean the world to me. :)

इंतज़ार
I saw her every other day, standing there, waiting for her buffaloes to finish their playtime in the stream.
The same stream that my room opened up to, where the black snake lived, the rickety footbridge Paala and Bella would scamper across, where the farmers behind cleaned up.
This was the only day i took their photographs, two months after observing them.
Anjuna, October 2020.

Snehalata Dhal, Forest Department Officer
March 2021, while on assignment for @guardian
We visited Snehalata around sunset at her residence cum office. She had become the face of the fight against forest fires in Simlipal after video footage of her welcoming the rain went viral. (Attached in Slide 6 - I think one of her colleagues shot that video clip)
Her area of jurisdiction covered Pithabata North WL Range, Baldiha Beat. Snehalata and her team had been spending day and night fighting the fires in her 20 sq km area with nothing but branches.

do trees feel more at night too?
the first photo is from my bedroom window at @theatticlibrary_
I put my camera against the metal windowsill to use as a makeshift tripod. Plum wine, the cows in the shed (left of frame), an eclectic collection of books and long contemplative winter nights to keep me company.
⛈️🫶🏼 Launching my new Instagram handle @khosgoes where I plan to post more frequently, lighter hearted moments - a visual diary of sorts.
Follow along for a vulnerable ride as I try to make some sense of my life.
#khosgoes was my first travel vertical a decade ago for @101india where I would write about and document everything from love, loss, soothsaying donkeys, hippies of Hampi and D-grade theatres.

**Show Extended**
As one person pointed out, you might have to get your clothes wet to see how they dry…☔️ but we’re extending the show by a few more weeks. So if you meant to come by, but the 🌧️ was a deterrent, then grab an umbrella or find a window of calm skies to see this large body of work.
