California: Just an insane drop on The Pay Fire that’s burning in El Dorado County, California. The Pilot got all up in there… awesome stuff. The fire burned up to the local airport and damaged some hangers, but it could have been a lot worse with all the homes nearby.

The Flanders Fire in Crow Wing County, Minnesota has been mapped at 1,666 acres, and is now 20% contained.
The emergency shelter in Crosslake is expected to close Monday night.
Dozers, J5s, and engines have been building fireline throughout the day.

New Mexico: The FBAN (Fire Behavior Analyst) on the Seven Cabins Fire reported just now that the fire could move 10 miles to the north/Northeast in the next 48 hours. The fire is coming out of the steeper ground into lighter and flashier fuels.
Pair that with minimal to no RH recovery tonight, plus 50MPH wind gusts, it’s bound to make a little bit of a run. Firing Ops may be conducted off Highway 246 to slow the fires spread. Looks like they are trying to catch it there. As I said on the show this morning, this thing could easily double or triple in size.
Mt. Taylor Hotshots are now en route to the fire to join up with the 230+ other firefighters on scene. They were just on the Six Mile Fire in New Mexico.

The entire town of Campo in southeastern Colorado is under a mandatory evacuation due to the 13,200 acre Sharpe Fire. The fire has crossed over from Oklahoma, and has been pushing North/Northwest into Colorado. This fire was first discovered on Friday.
The fire is fueled by dry grasses and strong winds, Red Flags have been forecast today in the state. There is an large, ongoing resource response that includes heavy equipment, aviation, and engines.

New Mexico: The Seven Cabins Fire burning outside Capitan, was mapped today at 8,971 acres and remains 0% contained. There are now 226+ firefighters on scene, with both fixed wing and rotor aircraft overhead.
Crews will try to hold Highway 246 today, and may conduct firing Ops off the highway to remove fuel between it and the main fire. Full national wildfire update on today’s show.

The Seven Cabins Fire in New Mexico is now estimated at 2,645+ acres after a significant increase in Fire activity. Southwest CIMT 1 is now in command of the fire, and the Southwest Region has moved to a preparedness level 3.

New Mexico: The Seven Cabins Fire has drastically increased in activity. The wildfire is located 7 miles southeast of Encinoso, or 25 miles northeast of Ruidoso, moving rapidly to the north-northeast. The evacuation area includes NM Highway 246 on the north side of the Capitan Mountains eastward to Boy Scout Mountain Road.
Last updated at 889 acres, there are now 5-6 Hotshot crews assigned to the incident. Thanks to the subscriber who shared this view of the fire.

Aviation, heavy equipment, and ground resources continue to work the Flanders Fire in Crow Wing county Minnesota. Fire activity has increased, and has jumped major road systems.
The fire was last updated at 600 acres, burning ten miles east of Breezy Point, Minnesota, along Highway 6. Fire crews and law enforcement are currently working to evacuate areas East of East Horseshoe Lake Road and South of County Road 11.
