There’s always been big dreams for this building. Designed by renowned Sheboygan architect Charles Hilpertshauser in the Queen Anne style, Hotel Laack became Plymouth’s leading hotel, catering primarily to traveling salesmen. 🕰️ When local businessman H. C. Laack built this historic hotel, he chose an ideal site on the main road leading to the railroad depot and across the street from the Plymouth Cheese Exchange. In four large sample rooms on the ground floor of Hotel Laack, salesmen would set out their wares, and country merchants came to town to place their orders. #archives #historicarchitecture #queenanne #wisconsinhistory #historicbuildings

The Henry Christopher Hotel experience is a passage through time ⏳️ With such a rich archive about the property, our restoration process reflects the same legacy-minded design from over a century ago. 🗞️ Plymouth Reporter – March 23rd, 1893 📰 HOTEL LAACK – A Handsome Building Elegantly Furnished – The Furniture Manufactured in Plymouth “The Hotel Laack, for that name it will be hereafter known, will be informally opened to the public next Monday. It will require only a few more days to complete the arrangements when Plymouth will have as finely equipped a hotel as can be found in this part of the state. The landlord has gone to a very considerable expense to furnish the house suitably; and it should be said to the credit of our flourishing little city that all the substantial, finely finished and handsome furniture is home product. Plymouth owes much to Mr. Laack’s enterprise in erecting as fine a building for a hotel. There are few, if any, places to its size in the state that have such expensive structures, and the fact is a matter of pride to all citizens of the place.”
