I still don’t have the words for the amount of gratitude I feel after celebrating my birthday at Monday Muse. The love that filled the POHO deck is something I’ll carry with me forever.
What made the night so unbelievable wasn’t just that people showed up for me, it was the reminder that this community truly shows up for each other. You could feel the love, intention, creativity, and care in every detail, every surprise, every dance move, every conversation, every hug. It was a powerful reminder of what real community looks like and how deeply people can care for one another.
The music was perfect, as always, with some of my favorite musicians and humans, and the theme was DANCING. The dance floor and the people on and off stage have always been my safe place. A place to let go, reconnect with myself, heal, laugh, and remember what really matters. I’m forever grateful for the Pour House, the staff, and every person who helps make that space feel so welcoming, loving, and sacred. It’s one of the few places where I truly feel I belong.
More than anything, this community has brought me back to myself. It has grounded me and made me fly at the same time. It has brought me friendship, inspiration, peace, mentors, creativity, and some of the most incredible people I could have ever hoped to know. It has also brought me back to my own art and reminded me how important creating is for my soul.
Not only did I get to celebrate my birthday, but Bill and I also celebrated 17 years of marriage. That man is my biggest supporter, the best dad, my adventure partner, and the person who always encourages my wild ideas while somehow still putting up with all my shenanigans. I’m endlessly grateful to get to do this life with him.
I hope anyone who felt the love that night remembers how important community really is, especially when the world can feel broken. Check on your people. Reach out when you need someone. Tell people you love them. Dance with your friends, just never stop dancing!
41 is a birthday I will never forget. Thank you all for loving me and each other so loudly.
