Men! The story long ó. They should have called it The early years of summat because 2 hours wouldn't suffice to tell the story from start to finish.
Joe sha! Only those who grew up with narcissistic people would understand the pressure and pain, the family went through. This is why a lot of narcissists are found in religious organizations because they need something that they can use to wield authority and mask the demon sitting closely in the surface..
There has to be a second part to tell the full story. Here's hoping that they do it. It was such a delightful nostalgic watch for the music. It was also sad seeing such an iconic genius suffer so much. He really struggled. What made him do loved, also separated him immensely from normal life.
Keep resting in power Michael. You were truly a phenomenal being and truly the G. O. A. T!

I did my take on Saturday at the station which happened to be match day and the sports team's club happened to score when I was dancing.
At a point some joined me in dancing and it was amazing to see how music is such a unifier.
I was dancing to give thanks for another opportunity to dance.

The last time I saw him was 16 years ago. He said he was coming to present a paper in Dublin but would pass through. I said I would be extremely pissed off if I didn't see him. He said "of course"
He walked through my door arms outstretched and I clung on. He brought memories, reassurance, safety, friendship.
We sat with food ( that he ordered because he remembered that I hate cooking, also he didn't want me tired out) and we talked.
He fought jetlag, I fought fibromyalgia and we stayed afloat reminiscing, looking at photos, laughing at memories, sober at the ones who had gone, happy for the progress.
I read him my poetry. He remembered my very first one presented at ANA Lagos. We laughed at the mischief I brought that day.
Names came up, history visited and the future explored.
Then he had to leave. I held him many times because this is a part of me that I rarely get to see these days.
I miss him already, just as I've always missed him before he came.
Eyitayo Aloh, my friend. Thank you for the honour of your presence. I'm very very grateful. May we not have to wait 16 years to see each other again. Be blessed always.
