Time for a bit of a reintroduction! My name is Clementine and I’m the designer behind The Function Sewing Project. I haven’t posted on this account for quite some time as I’ve been busy sewing for my new project @clementine.craftworks . Starting that business has taken up just about all my time, so I haven’t had much to dedicate to making new sewing patterns. I’m starting to get in a good place with that, so I think it’s finally time to work on a new pattern! The first will be this tool roll that I originally designed for Clementine Craft Works. In addition to being able to buy the finished bag over there, I’ve decided I’m going to make a pattern so you can make it too!
Moving forward with the Functional Sewing Project I’m hoping to start making a wider variety of patterns rather than just bike bags. All will be focused on making highly functional and durable, bags, clothing, and accessories - at all different skill levels.

I designed the Utility tote to be my ideal EDC Bag, so I thought I’d show you what I carry around in mine every day. I find the bag to be a perfect size for my everyday essentials, while leaving some space just in case I pick something up during the day. I prefer large bucket like compartments, but the bag could easily be modified to have more internal organization as well. Going on 6 months of using this bag and it’s holding up great!

Got out to ride bikes with @voprak_inc a few weeks ago, and got to use the Top Tube bags from my newest sewing pattern. The bag mounts well on a wide variety of bikes, from my skinny tubed steel Surly, to her chunky carbon Santa Cruz.

I’m getting closer to getting this top tube bag design finished up. While the Fidlok closure on the original was cool, I ended up switching to Velcro as it’s cheaper and more readily available.
I’m working out the final fit problems, then on to making the pattern and guide!

Just finished up this one off custom frame bag for @caugustblatz . It’s a full lace on, and features a full length main zipper as well as a second half length zipper compartment on the other side.
