Two National Geographic Explorers. One conversation about what draws a scientist toward a camera, and what the camera can carry that science alone cannot.
@carltonward and @ronan_donovan joined us after their lecture on America’s wildlife corridors, and what followed was a quiet, rigorous examination of their practice — from field research in Uganda to twenty years documenting Florida’s vanishing wild. 🐾
This is the kind of conversation the Four Arts was made for.
In a celebration of legacy, this year’s Contemporaries Gala: Pioneers of Palm Beach, reimagined the origins of our island’s unique cultural identity. 🌴🌸🦩
An immersion into the profound cultural shift precipitated by the extension of the Florida East Coast Railway.
It was a tribute to our collective heritage, a bridge between the romanticism of early 20th-century exploration and the vibrant, intellectual community we steward today.

This past February, the Four Arts opened The Triumph of Nature: Art Nouveau, 120 objects from one of the finest Art Nouveau holdings in the United States.
Art Nouveau emerged in Europe in the late 19th century as a deliberate response to industrialization, dissolving the boundary between fine and applied arts and conceiving of entire environments as unified works, what theorists called Gesamtkunstwerk.
Furniture by Louis Majorelle and Georges de Feure, glass by Émile Gallé, ceramics by the Zsolnay factory, prints by Alphonse Mucha — each originally designed to work in concert with the others, and presented here in that same spirit.

Organized by @chryslermuseum , Norfolk, VA, and toured by @artsandartists , Washington, DC.
Not every visit to the Four Arts begins with a program.
@shoffitanna captured what the gardens offer on an ordinary afternoon, sculptures among tropical plantings, unhurried pathways, and the kind of quiet that Palm Beach rarely advertises. 🌺🌴
The Sculpture Garden is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Improvements are underway, so please use caution when navigating.

America heard through music, across time, memory, and imagination. 🎶🇺🇸
Curated by Wu Han, the America at 250 Festival with the @chambermusicsociety unfolded over three concerts at The Four Arts, tracing a wide arc of American sound.
From 19th-century song to Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland, and the stark intensity of Psycho score by Bernard Herrmann. It reveaed how American composers have shaped a distinct musical language over time.
These performances offered not a single narrative, but many, held together by place, history, and sound.

A single stem on a desk. Daisies in the kitchen before friends arrive. 🌷
@aerin Lauder’s approach to flowers is rooted in the domestic and the daily, an aesthetic inherited in part from her grandmother Estée Lauder, and refined over decades into something entirely her own.
She joined the Four Arts this season as the Garden Club of Palm Beach’s Annual Speaker to discuss her new book Living with Flowers and the considered life it reflects.

The Four Arts was honored to welcome the 2nd Earl of Snowdon for a remarkable lecture that traced the enduring significance of craft across centuries. 🖼️ ✨
From the inner workings of the global art market to the preservation of time-honored techniques, his perspective offered a compelling reminder that true artistry lies not only in creation but in continuity.
Through wit, depth, and experience, the conversation illuminated the vital role craftsmanship plays in shaping both heritage and the future.
Thank you to all who joined us!
A defining moment of the 2026 season. 🎷⭐️
The Four Arts had the honor of hosting @wyntonmarsalis and @jazzdotorg for a performance that explored the very soul of American music.
Across the program, tradition and innovation moved together seamlessly, reflecting a genre that continues to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in its origins.
Heard within the intimate setting of The Four Arts, the performance revealed the intricate structure and soul of jazz. 🎶

How do you bring 250 years of history into a single evening? 🇺🇸🌴
At The Society of the Four Arts, the America at 250 Gala unfolded as a celebration of heritage, artistry, and Palm Beach elegance. Where every detail, reflected a deep reverence for the nation’s enduring story.
Inspired by the spirit of the semiquincentennial, the evening brought together a shared sense of occasion, refined, luminous, and distinctly Four Arts.
Thank you to all who joined us for this unforgettable night.

Earlier this month, @carolinaherrera Jr. joined Sofia Vollmer Maduro for a conversation about how memory, scent, and atmosphere shape what we create and how we remember. 💭🌷
The afternoon invited audiences to consider how deeply the senses shape the way we engage with art, design, and one another.
Thanks to everyone who joined us! ✨

The Society of the Four Arts welcomed the @nycballet for an unforgettable evening. 🩰⭐️
Led by Artistic Director Jonathan Stafford the program guided audiences through the delicate artistry of the pas de deux.
Set to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s luminous score from Diamonds, the rehearsal revealed the precision, trust, and nuance at the heart of partnering, where every gesture carries intention.
Through insight and performance, the evening illuminated not just the choreography, but the discipline and connection that bring ballet to life.

As our 2026 season comes to a close, let’s take a glimpse into where it all began. 🖼️
In 1936, the Society of the Four Arts held its very first exhibition in a vacant storefront on Royal Palm Way. No grand hall, no marble floors. Just four walls, an extraordinary vision, and one of the most powerful art dealers in the world willing to lend his best. Lord Duveen sent a Rembrandt, Aristotle Contemplating the Bust of Homer.
That same painting would later sell to the @metmuseum for over two million dollars. But in 1936, Palm Beach got to see it first. Just two years later, in January 1938, the Four Arts opened its first true home. Designed by renowned architect Maurice Fatio, the building housed the library, art galleries, and all of the organization’s activities under one roof.
Today, you know it as the King Library. That storefront on Royal Palm Way still stands as the Rovensky Administration Building, right next door to where it all grew into something permanent.
A quiet reminder that greatness does not always begin where you expect it to. ✨
