As we continue planning for our 8th Annual Cayford Gala and welcoming new creations of connections with new people, we wanted to share a bit of the story behind Forward Foundation for those who are new here.
In 2013, Christopher Cayford was diagnosed with cancer. Over the years that followed, he faced his illness with strength and grace, supported closely by his community. Together with nine others who were part of his “village,” a shared idea grew: that no young adult facing a shortened life expectancy should go without meaningful experiences shared with the people who matter most. From that, Forward Foundation was created.
That same purpose continues to guide our work today.

Eight years ago today, we said goodbye to our founder, Christopher Cayford.
His vision, compassion, and dedication helped build the foundation of the work we continue today. While he may no longer be with us, his legacy lives on in the community he helped create and the lives that continue to be touched because of his passion.
Today we remember Christopher with gratitude and honour the impact he made. His vision continues to guide us forward. 🤍
