April 9, 1993 Cow Palace (Bosnian Rape Victim Benefit)
Nirvana personally curated the lineup, bringing together The Breeders, Bay Area’s own Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, and the surf-tinged, fuzz-driven sound of L7 for a benefit show that raised over $60,000 for the Tresnjevka Women’s Group.
Earlier that year, bassist Krist Novoselic traveled through war-torn Bosnia-Herzegovina, inspiring the band to help organize and perform at this benefit in support of women refugees.
