The Whigs return with two covers that somehow feel like originals.
“Fake Like” (from Poliça) and “Downtown” (from Still Corners) get the full Greg Dulli treatment — dramatic, cinematic, and soaked in late-night atmosphere.
According to Dulli, both tracks started as soundcheck jams and quickly took on a life of their own: songs he connected with lyrically and could fully inhabit vocally. You can hear it — these aren’t novelty covers, they’re reinterpretations.
This marks the band’s first new music since How Do You Burn? (2022), and it also kicks off the road toward their 40th anniversary in 2026.
