I'll have WAY more to say and show once I get back from Spring Break with the fam, but for now... This group of cray cray risk-takers (and a bunch in other parts of the country) all accepted a call over the last 2 months that put us on a path to create something extraordinary. In 2 months, this collection of badass superhumans concepted, scripted, wrote, illustrated, 3D sculpted, animated, voice acted, scored, sound designed, mixed, and produced an original 9-minute superhero film to launch a client's new product at a global trade show. To make it even crazier...the entire film was delivered in 360° immersive projection with a binaural (look it up) audio mix. When I tell you I am surrounded by mad geniuses- I mean it. Take a few looks at some things I haphazardly captured on my phone. I was smiling too hard and too often to remember to take pictures. Thank God for @papa_turk !

My father met my mother, @leslieatd , when he sat down in her office at the bank to ask her for money for his "art thing." To hear her tell it, she knew she wasn't gonna give him the money, but thought he was cute, so they went for a drink. That one drink would lead to a family that loved the arts and surrounded themselves with the artists who make life more beautiful daily. That one drink taught us that it was possible to pursue your dreams even when they made no sense and to ensure that you were surrounded by people as committed to vision as you were. That one drink led to 3 lives that will hopefully have an impact on many more people over many more drinks with many more passionate pursuits that might lead nowhere... but also might take you everywhere and give you everything. I've come to terms with the fact that to know me is to, on some level, know my father. I've come to know that the Rev. James H. Daniel Jr. peeks through the veil every now and then and I find myself saying, doing, or being just like him in small (and some not-so-small) ways. So...today this article in the month of his birth hit different. To stand shoulder to shoulder with some of Dallas' arts luminaries and to be listed as an "influential arts leader" means more than the cheesing smile in this picture belies. It means that my father heard God when he sat down in that chair. It means that my mother's sacrifices to make sure we got to all parts of NYC at all hours of the day for all manner of activities was more than worth it. It means a lot. Shout out to @dtoxart for taking the first "good suit" I was able to afford when I became a DJ 15 years ago and turning it into something dope (and it still fits), to @sweetrevelrealty , @clarksdesigns Dustin Clark, and @jacksonthebrand for the fit, and to @visit_dallas Dallas and @modluxdallas Luxury Dallas Magazine for the invitation. Stay dope, friends.

About last night…💥 . Talk about feeling grateful headed into Thanksgiving week after helping to put on the first-ever Deep Ellum Music Festival in celebration of the neighborhood’s 150th anniversary. For one night only, we had hometown heroes @bfs_official , @revwon and @therealdougefresh take the stage. And#topof all the other badass local artists and musicians we had in the house. . Deep Ellum is more than just a neighborhood to us. It’s history. It’s culture. It’s home. Thank you to the @deepellumfoundation for trusting us to be apart of this monumental moment. Here’s to the next 150 👏 👏 👏 . Shout out to all of our partners for making this event what it was. Y’all are the realest: @lightwarelabs , @onstagesystems , @shagcarpetprops @toptiereventrentals , @dotshophouse @sir4ourth_events

Throwin’ it back a year to the first EVER @salesloft #Saleslove event in Austin where keeping sales weird and fun(ky) was mission number one for attendees. Saleslove was designed to be more than just your average corporate conference. . How? By incorporating some of the hottest spots in the city. By modeling the look and feel to be that of a vibey music festival complete with concert-grade lighting and audio, an interactive house band, experience-driven activations, and even a fully customized walk-in music track for the CMO. . This marked the beginning of a b-e-a-utiful partnership with Salesloft that was followed by a ‘Saleslove On Tour’ roadshow this year and we’re not done yet…We’ll give you one hint: Mr. Worldwide, anyone? . . #salesconference #corporateeventplanner #TheEventNerd #IRLEventsByTEN #ILikeNerdyTalk #CorporateEvents

Welcome to our fully immersive day out with (a small fraction of) the Nerd Herd. . Obviously, we’re obsessed with curated experiences so we ventured up to Grapevine where we started our day with lunch at none other than the @rainforest_cafe . We had a gorilla overlooking our table who would randomly pound his fist, perhaps in protest of his foodless robot life. The thunderstorms were what truly stole the show though, let’s be honest 🦍⛈️ . Then we headed to the main event…wondering, wandering, and weirdo-ing around the magical @meowwolfgrapevine exhibit where we were graciously welcomed by our homie @wheron who served as the artist liaison for the epicness that is ‘The Real Unreal’, an exhibition dedicated to finding yourself. If you haven’t had the chance to visit yet, it better be on your list. The works include tons of mindblowing and let’s be honest, trippy works from some of the best artists in DFW. We don’t want to spoil too much of its splendor, but we can promise you that it’s worth it and even better enjoyed post-rainforest cafe cocktail 🌴🖼️ . . . #meowwolf #meowwolfgrapevine #grapevinetx #immersiveart #ilikenerdytalk

To say we were blown away by the dopeness that was Irving’s Sparks & Stripes Fourth of July event this year would be an understatement. In the scorching heat that is this (and really, every) July in Texas, we definitely put the sweat in the Blood, Sweat, and Tears. . This was a rad event to produce, and as always, our partners helped us bring the DFW sky to life. It was also made just a little sweeter knowing that we got to celebrate with our friends and family on the lawn for the (free) show. Thank you to the City of Irving for trusting us with this bold concept. How ‘bout we make it even more badass next year? 💥 . . . #eventprofs #ilikenerdytalk #IRLEventsbyTEN #TheEventNerd #irvingtx #droneshow
