Closure, communication, accountability, and moving forward. 🇭🇹🤎 I said what needed to be said, they said what needed to be said, and now it’s time to leave this situation where it belongs and continue supporting the culture in a healthier way. SA FINI 🙅🏾‍♀️ Growth sometimes comes through uncomfortable conversations, and I genuinely hope something positive comes from all of this 🫶🏾 cause we are GOOD over here!! More than anything, this situation reminded me how MANY Haitian restaurants, businesses, and hidden gems are out there waiting to be experienced. Y’all flooded my comments and DMs with recommendations, and trust me, I’ve been taking notes. 👀🍽️✨ So while one chapter closes, another one begins. New spots, new experiences, new energy 🙌🏾🙌🏾 an kite sa tande… 🇭🇹

Yesterday I had the incredible honor of receiving the Toussaint Excellence in Education Award at the East Orange Haitian Flag Raising Ceremony. 🇭🇹 📸 @jerry__alexandre — Haitian Photographer and truly one of a kind in talent (Thank you x a million 🙌🏾) Thank you to @councilmanbergsonleneus @mayor.tedgreen and the entire, the East Orange City Council, along with everyone involved in organizing such a meaningful celebration of Haitian culture, history, and excellence within our community. East Orange holds such a special place in my heart. I spent 7 years teaching at 🏫East Orange Campus High School, taught in the adult school program, and even lived in East Orange for 8 years after returning from China. This community helped shape me not only as an educator, but as a woman, mother, and proud Haitian American. #jaguarstrong To be recognized in a city where I have worked, lived, taught, learned, and grown feels incredibly full circle. A special thank you to Dr. Older Azard for always supporting me academically throughout the years, and to @brock4westorange @doc_rock who gave me an opportunity during my student teaching days when many others would not. Some people change the trajectory of your life simply by believing in you early. And of course, thank you to my parents and my village for raising me deeply connected to my 🇭🇹Haitian culture🇭🇹 The older I get, the more I realize what a gift that truly was. ✨This award is bigger than me. It belongs to every student I’ve taught, every Haitian parent trying their best, every educator pouring into children daily, and every first generation child learning how to carry multiple worlds with pride.✨ L’union fait la force. 🇭🇹🖤 #teachersofinstagram #teacher #haiti #haitian

Let’s take this show on the road… @tkc_orlando map vin pou ou 🙌🏾 ✨If you grew up in a Haitian church, this one is for you!! ✨ If you know what house calls, midnight prayers, Les Cris de Minuit, Veille de Nuit, Chant desperance, and those long nights in church felt like… this is your night!!! And if you’ve been away but can still hear your mother, grandmother, aunt, or godmother singing those songs like it was yesterday—this is for you too!!! June 5th isn’t just karaoke night. It’s memory night. It’s healing night. It’s the kind of night where a song pulls you right back into a place you didn’t realize you still carried. Chant D’Espérance Karaoke Night 🎤 TKC Kreyol | June 5 | 7:30PM Come ready to sing like it still lives in you. #worshipnight

Mother’s Day has never been an easy holiday for me. Every year, I pray it gets lighter, softer, easier to hold… and every year, I’m reminded that this day carries so many different emotions for so many people. 🤎 I even tried going to church today 🤷🏾‍♀️ but my heart just wasn’t there. I ended up leaving early and walking through ShopRite instead, quietly sitting with my feelings and respecting where I am emotionally… So today, I don’t just want to say “Happy Mother’s Day” in a generic way. I want to say it in the way your heart needs it. To the mothers carrying joy, grief, exhaustion, healing, gratitude, disappointment, longing, love, or loss all at once… I see you. To those celebrating today, and to those simply surviving it, I see you too. 🤎 May today meet you gently, wherever you are emotionally. Happy Mother’s Day, in the way that you need it most. 🕊️ #mothersday

One of my top three favorite months of the year 🇭🇹✨ Not only do I get to celebrate one of my favorite holidays, 🇭🇹 Haitian Flag Day 🇭🇹 which has always felt like a full-blown national holiday in my life… but this month has always been a VYB!! Even back in grade school, Haitian Flag Day wasn’t just a regular day!! 😂 The whole city, the whole school celebrating with you. The pride, the creative outfits, the music, the food… it was something to look forward to and something to truly enjoy 🫶🏾 And somehow, one of my other favorite holidays, Cinco de Mayo 🇲🇽, falls right in the mix… so it’s just celebration after celebration over here, which leads right into a good summer 🙌🏾 May will always be about culture, pride, and joy for me. If you know, you know 🤞🏾 L’union fait la force 🇭🇹 #haitianheritage #haitianflagday #haitianpride #haitian #haiti

You’ve been warned ⚠️ Teacher Appreciation Week is this coming week and after over a decade in the classroom, I’m not being humble about it this year. This is OUR week to shine ✨ Send the discounts 💸 Send the gift cards 🎁 Send the free promos 🛍️ Send ALL of it. Because a simple “thank you” has NEVER fully covered what we teachers actually do 🙃 And if you have a teacher in your life, this is your sign… Show up for them 🤎🖤 Love on them 💐 Appreciate them out loud 👏🏾 CAUSE IT’S HARD OUT HERE!! Teaching is not what it used to be. It is heavier. It is harder. We are navigating a completely different world with our students 🌎 while still being expected to pour, guide, and hold it all together 📚 So yes… celebrate us properly this week 🎉 We’ve earned it 💯 #teacherappreciationweek #teachersoftiktok #teacher #teacherlife #teach
