✨ **They’re back—and they’re brilliant.** ✨ Meet the **2026 Cohort of the Top 50 Educators**—a group of educators whose experience runs deep, whose knowledge is hard-earned, and whose impact is undeniable. These honorees have poured years into classrooms, communities, and students, doing the real, often unseen work that makes education move forward. From innovation to advocacy, from joy to justice—this cohort represents what happens when expertise meets purpose. 👏 Join us in celebrating the educators who remind us why this work matters. @jonathanbrocco @leighreaganalley @austynliston @mrsg_nbct @kwam_the_identity_shaper @musicwithmissalice

There was a long moment of silence after I’d turned around and hurled my chalk to the floor with great force, eyes glaring, lips bared, a growl escaping from between my clenched teeth. Chalk dust was settling on my shoulders, and my seventh-grade class was staring at me like I was a wild animal. The kid who interrupted me had handed me my last straw. Luckily, someone started laughing at how silly I looked, and everybody joined in. I’m a sucker for a good laugh. But in that long moment of silence, I knew I’d lost it due to teacher rage. /teacher-rage-using-science-to-transform-triggers/

Our students aren't broken. In fact, if we look at what we as a society have trained them to do, they're performing extremely well. We handed them devices engineered by the most sophisticated attention architects in human history, we gave those devices to them younger and younger, and we stood by while algorithmic platforms spent twenty years perfecting the art of redirection. Dr. Gloria Mark at UC Irvine has the data: average focus on a digital device has dropped from two and a half minutes in 2004 to 47 seconds today. Our students didn't lose the ability to think, struggle, or focus. We just spent a decade conditioning them to never have to. /protecting-the-brain-in-the-age-of-bypass-how-to-preserve-critical-thinking-when-shortcuts-are-everywhere/
