Progress Update!! 🚨 We're making progress in the behind the scenes of developing Thee Dream Camp - an Ecovillage Resort. One of the major things we have been working on is interview Resort and Outdoor Hospitality Management companies. These companies will provide services for customer service, operations, and bookings / recreation management that is catered to our brand and style. We will work with the management company and Architecture Firm to design something truly great for an amazing experience. I will be touching more on some of the points I mentioned in the video soon! I am proud to announce that I have been selected as a RICE Stakeholder in the Execute Stage of the Big IDEAS program! RICE is the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. Created through the legacy of H.J. Russell and family, RICE provides the necessary tools that we need to build and scale our businesses to become the Fortune 500 companies of tomorrow. From business advisors, networks with other entrepreneurs, access to top business leaders, access to capital, and more the sky is the limit now that I am a RICE Stakeholder. It's still black history month and today it's all about Lincoln Hills Country Club located in Colorado and founded in the 1920's. Lincoln Hills Country Club was one of the resorts developed by black developers for the Black community. It was made out of necessity to create a safe space for Community outside of the racial segregation and violence from the Ku Klux Klan.

Today we show the story of Bruce's Beach in Los Angeles, CA. Bruce's Beach was a historically Black Owned beach that was eventually taken from the family. We will show detail the histories of more Black owned Tesorts and spaces throughout the month! ✊🏾

Everytime we visit a new land, we are awed by how different and unique it feels from all the other lands we are visiting across the country. BLK Dream Camp is no exception. Its wide expanse is made to feel quite cozy by small bush-like trees which dot the landscape. The feeling of both remoteness and coziness felt like a paradox that only a dream could pull off. Blk Dream Camp is aptly named for a number of reasons: Our host Aleeyah is literally building her dream on 25 acres purchased in Arizona. A diligent multi-tasker and construction professional by trade, Aleeyah was underway on two projects, an A-frame cabin and an outdoor bathroom with laundry facilities and had just finished building out a glamorous campfire seating area, complete with lighting. When we heard about all the things on the task lists, in the spirit of Love on the Land, we jumped right in to help. Aleeyah and Mike taught Mari how to use heavy equipment safely and we managed to dig and square the twelve holes necessary for the foundation posts. Mike was in his element collaborating with another builder. After a hard day's work we ate and chatted by the fire. At one point, 3 of us went to check the time on our phones and we read 3 different times. Of course that would be! Time doesn’t work the same when you’re in a dream. Because the camp is situated in a timezone gray area it depends on the luck of the universe what time your cell will pick up. One thing’s for sure though, BLK Dream Camp is the place to go to conjure up your vision.
