April 2022 - The Hague, The Netherlands While in The Hague for the Invictus Games in April, Meghan spent some time at Project Fearless, an Amsterdam-based nonprofit which aims to provide a safe and supportive space for girls and nonbinary youths. The organization wants to create an open and inclusive community where young people can take courses, learn new skills, express themselves, gain resilience, share ideas, and support others. Project Fearless has just celebrated their third anniversary. Meghan joined the organization’s inaugural Entrepreneurship Course as a guest coach, giving the attendees access to an incredible role model who is making a difference in the world and using her voice to make the world a better place. Swipe for more wonderful pics of Meghan’s visit to Project Fearless!

April 2022 - The Hague, The Netherlands For a day of guest coaching at Project Fearless, The Duchess of Sussex topped familiar pieces topped by a new, relaxed blazer. Necklace: Cartier Blazer: Chloe T-shirt & Jeans: Unidentified Bracelet & Watch: Cartier Rings: Birks Heels: Paul Andrew The Duchess’s easygoing business casual look was perfect for the day of conversations and classes - it was comfy and relaxed enough that the Duchess was totally at home sitting cross-legged on the floor. Meghan chose a new silk crepe de chine blazer from Chloe in a soft tan shade called ’Sand’. The classic tailored jacket features oversized notched lapels, flapped pockets and white lining (which you can see in the Duchess’s cuffed sleeves. She wore the light contrasting blazer over a black crew-neck shirt and black trousers that, from the photos, look to have a matte-leather coating. Both are currently unidentified. The Duchess accessorized with familiar pieces - the Cartier Juste Un Clou necklace which she wore for the Invictus Opening Ceremony, her beloved Cartier Love Bracelet, and the heirloom Cartier Tank Française watch from Princess Diana. We also saw the return of her Paul Andrew Pump It Up pumps which were first worn in 2018 for a trip to Ireland. What did you think of this look?

With all of the coverage that has come out since the Duke & Duchess’s appearance at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, I am more impressed than ever by their decision to attend and their absolute grace and poise in navigating their time there. They attended the events that were most important to HM the Queen - the celebration of her birthday (Trooping the Color) and The Service of Thanksgiving. Swipe for the few pics of Meghan & her incredible hat at the Trooping the Color!

June 3, 2022 - The Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving, St. Paul’s Cathedral The Duchess of Sussex wore a stunning new head-to-toe Dior look in palest grey for the one public event she and Harry attended as part of the Jubilee celebrations. Hat: Dior by Stephen Jones Earrings: Maison Birks Trench Coat, Skirt & Shirt: Dior by Maria Grazia Churi Bracelet: Cartier Gloves & Heels: Dior More than two years since their last public engagement in the UK, the Duke & Duchess of Sussex were once again entering one of England’s oldest and most iconic churches with the world watching! For that Commonwealth Day Service in 2020, the Duchess chose an unusual bright Emerald dress with attached asymmetrical cape detail and netted cocktail hat. By contrast, this appearance was a return to Meghan’s tried and tested signatures - unfussy minimalism, trench coat details and monochromatic neutrals. The look included a trench coat over a white shirt and skirt (which we didn’t get to see) all reportedly from the Spring-Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection by Dior’s current creative director, Maria Grazia Churi. The color of the ensemble has been reported as white, pale grey, pale lilac and greige (grey beige) - it’s so hard to tell from the photos! The Dior coat features the high collar, double-breasted closure, belted waist and storm patch (the flap that sticks out on the back) which are hallmarks of the traditional trench coat. Meghan completed the head-to-toe monochromatic Dior look with a straw hat by Dior milliner Stephen Jones and a pair of DMoi high heel pumps in satin the exact color of her trench. This was not the first time the Duchess has turned to Dior for custom look - she also chose them for the RAF Centenary in 2018 (one of my all-time faves!), her tour of Morocco while pregnant with Archie in 2019, and Archie’s christening later that year. Her jewelry was at its most minimal - just her beloved Cartier Love Bracelet and Maison Birks Snowflake earrings (worn many times during her time as a working Royal). Swipe for pics & let me know in the comments what you thought of this look!

June 3, 2022 - The Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving, St. Paul’s Cathedral The Duke & Duchess attended their first and only public engagement of the spectacular four day Platinum Jubilee Extravaganza on Friday. Events across the course of the long weekend included the Trooping The Color Parade (Thursday), BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace (Saturday) and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant (Sunday). While the couple and their children were staying at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor for the duration of the Jubilee, they chose to limit their attendance to the Trooping The Color (we saw very grainy pics of Meghan & Harry inside Buckingham Palace) and the Service of Thanksgiving. For the Service, Meghan looked demure & elegant a classic bespoke Dior look that included two of her style signatures - trench coat details & monochrome neutrals. My next post will cover more of the style details! It was the first time that the couple brought US-born Lilibet to the UK & given their proximity to Windsor Castle, it’s most likely that the second littlest Royal great grandchild was able to meet her great-grandmother for the first time (it’s less certain that she met her grandfather, uncle & cousins while in town!) The Sussexes celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday on Saturday, June 4th. The couple hosted a small, informal picnic for friends at Frogmore Cottage with a cake by Claire Ptak & face painting for the children. Briefly, we thought that the Sussexes had chosen not to release a picture to mark Lilibet’s first birthday- and respected that decision given the couple’s history with the press & privacy concerns but they surprised us with 2 GORGEOUS snaps of little Lili by Misan Harriman after the Jubilee weekend had ended. I think it’s incredible that the Sussexes chose to come back to the UK to celebrate HM, the Queen, given the way they have been treated in the country - especially more viciously since their departure as senior working royals. It took real guts to return & attend public (& family) events! It was a joy to see them & I hope we see them again soon!

Claire Ptak has shared photos of Lilibet’s Birthday cake! Claire baked Harry & Meghan’s wedding cake (swipe for pics) and used the same delightful Lemon sponge cake drizzled with Elderflower syrup & topped with Amalfi Lemon curd recipe for little Lili’s birthday. Even the decor - generous frosting & blooming peonies - was reminiscent of her parents’ wedding cake! There was a special Lili twist though - while their wedding cake was covered in elderflower-infused Swiss meringue buttercream, for Lili’s cake, Claire chose a strawberry buttercream. The cake looks absolutely mouthwatering - and how wonderful that the cake was such a nostalgic reminder of Harry & Meghan’s wedding just four years ago which was the start of this beautiful little family! If you’re in London, you can visit Claire’s bakery, @violetcakeslondon , and sample her amazing baking for yourself! I can’t wait to pop in next time I’m there! 📸: Claire Ptak

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILIBET DIANA! The Duke & Duchess of Sussex have released a gorgeous photo of their little girl on her birthday! From Omid Scobie: For Lilibet’s first birthday, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan invited close friends and family for an "intimate backyard picnic" at Frogmore Cottage, Windsor on Saturday. Claire Ptak (who made the couple's 2018 wedding cake) baked a special order for the party. 📸: Misan Harriman

April 17, 2022 - Invictus Games 2022, The Hague The Duchess Wrapped up her time at the 2022 Invictus Games at a private reception held by the Invictus Foundation where she met participants in the games and members of the Foundation. Her look, her smile, those bold red lips were the exclamation point on an extremely positive and successful weekend of appearances. After their departure from the UK and their life as Senior Working Royals, there seemed to be a hesitancy in Meghan - and who could blame her after the treatment she and Harry experienced within “The Firm"and the scorn leveled against them by the vitriolic British Press. The couple departed in early 2020 into an unknown future - how would they support themselves, how would they be received, how would they find a peaceful new existence for their family? And then, the global pandemic hit, further rocking our world, the events that inspired the Black Lives Matter movement, soon followed by the premature loss of Meghan’s second pregnancy, and then the news of a third pregnancy. Given the loss she had just experienced, and the pre-natal depression she experienced while expecting Archie, I can only imagine that the time spent expecting Lili, although joyful, must also have been fraught with fear and anxiety for Meghan. Her reemergence to public engagements in late 2021 felt tentative, uncertain, a little vulnerable - we saw this reflected in her style and reaction to the press that attended appearances in New York. But with each appearance, Meghan has been reminded that she does have adoring supporters and that she is welcomed back with open arms by them. In my opinion, we saw this weekend, Meghan in full bloom - completely comfortable in her space and role, taking up space, being herself, shining her bright light on all around her. We saw it in the style choices made, in her beaming smile, in her solo appearances. The bold, brilliant, beatific Meghan is BACK and I, for one, am absolutely thrilled. She has been reminded of just how beloved she is and, her power restored, I can’t wait to see how and when she steps out next!

April 17, 2022 - Invictus Games 2022, The Hague The Duchess of Sussex made another bright white statement to wrap up her time in The Hague - what a perfect bookend and counterpoint to her first look of this visit. Dress: Valentino Handbag: Khaite Shoes: Ralph Lauren Earrings: Unidentified Bracelets: Cartier and Bentley & Skinner Rings: Pippa Small Meghan chose a new white Valentino mini-dress. The shift dress features three-quarter length sleeves & a laser-cut floral detail over the shoulders & décolletage. She wore a similar white Valentino shift in September 2021 for the Global Citizen Festival. Both looks are excellent examples of the power of an ‘outfit-making’ dress - a piece which is so interesting in itself that it requires minimal accessorizing to wow. For this look, Meghan kept adornments minimal, adding a new pair of Ralph Lauren Pumps - the Celia Style in Brown, (she also owns in them in Olive Suede) - and a new bag from Khaite - the Beatrice Hobo with knotted handle in brown suede. On the jewelry front, she wore her Cartier Love Bracelet, Diamond tennis bracelet (believed to be the one gifted to her by Prince Charles from Bentley & Skinner) & two rings from Pippa Small - the Almost Herkimer Diamond Ring & Rock Crystal Greek Ring both in 18K Gold. These were first seen for Princess Eugenie’s wedding in 2018. The Duchess also wore earrings which we have yet to identify - very difficult to see from the photos available. She also wore her Valentino sunglasses from earlier in the day when arriving at the event. My favorite accessory of this look? One we don’t see very often on Meghan - a bold red lip! Her friend & make-up artist, Daniel Martin, shared in the past that Meghan wasn’t always comfortable in a red lip "The one time she did a red lip, she just didn't feel comfortable in it," Martin said. "She likes to talk & she's not a fussy person, so she doesn't want to have to worry about anything.” That said, when @cza.glam asked Daniel Martin on Instagram “Real question is how hard was it to convince her to wear a red lip?” he replied “It was her idea! 😜🤷🏻‍♂️❤️” Meghan is turning up the volume again & I am HERE FOR IT!
