It was a pleasure to be invited to the @hornsearescue station recently to take a deeper dive into some of the incredible work that goes on behind-the-scenes of a rescue at sea. 🌊🛟
This included a tour of the station, meeting some of the team, dressing up in kit and more. 🦺
Our Crew even had the opportunity to see a call-out in real time, discovering how fast the team are able to respond in emergency situations and launch the boat. In this particular case, we are all fortunate that the outcome was clear. 🛥️
@hornsearescue is a fantastic local charity supported by a highly committed team of local volunteers, with a mission to serve the communities around us by providing a life saving inshore rescue service and education to all on staying safe while at sea.

This annual event encourages people to learn, and take action to protect threatened and endangered species. With more than 48,000 species threatened with extinction on the @redlist_of_ecosystems , there's never been a more critical time to conserve wildlife. 🔴
Alongside other @officialbiaza zoos and aquariums, we are collectively working to a shared goal: to halt and reverse the negative trend of biodiversity loss through conservation and education. 🌍

Bee Lady Day launched in 2025 in tribute to Hull’s cherished Jean Bishop, affectionately known as “The Bee Lady.”
Over 30 years, Jean raised nearly £125,000 for @ageukhull_eastyorkshire , spreading joy and making a difference for countless individuals. Now, Age UK HEY continue her legacy with the goal of raising an additional £100,000 to support older people in the community who are facing struggles. 💛

They are a social species and are usually found in pairs or small groups. They play a highly useful role in eating the excess algae off coral, preventing a coral from suffocating! 🪸

They dedicated their time to teach some of our Crew vital lifesaving skills ahead of our popular H2O Heroes event, which included:
🏊 Defensive swim rescue techniques
🌊 Ways to float
🛟 Throw rope training
🦺 How to approach casualties safely
🛥️ The strength of currents and how water temperature can affect mobility
PLUS, a fun extra paddleboard race! 🚣
