Two wheels, and endless possibilities!
Today we recognize how powerful the bike is as a vehicle for change. May 3rd is National Ride a Bike Day and it rolls right into National Bike Month.
Beyond the joy, the laughter, and the feeling of freedom, bikes carry a deeper story… especially for girls and women. In the late 1800s, the bike became a powerful symbol of independence. For the first time, women could move freely, without chaperones, using their own strength and following their own path. Bikes even helped spark changes in fashion!
As Susan B. Anthony famously said, “the bicycle has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world.” And today we ride with appreciation for the bike's role in this necessary forward progress.
These photos capture that same spirit of self reliance today. Our riders are claiming space, building confidence, fostering community and finding joy in every ride.
