Lucy lives in a quiet, powerful corner of my heart, and bringing her into the light was a step I’ll always remember. Thank you @koi._.kai & @sinaistudios_ for helping me shape her story and see her beauty the way I do. This is only the beginning.

Representation of a black slave auction in modernized time,
the sad reality of what black women face.
Objectification & hatred
even though behind one’s eyes is only love.
Even through her beauty she is belittled,
betrayed,
and abused for it.
“When you are a woman, you are taught to love and nurture regardless of what is shown to you.”
She holds this pain
and continues on to become a symbol for black women everywhere.
Even in solidarity,
we are womanist. Not feminist.
