STEP 2 - ONLINE CASTING
You either love them or you hate them: selftapes! This is how you can present yourself for a casting in case there is no in-person casting or you can´t attend it. As you’re probably less bothered with nerves for a selftape, you will have to work twice as hard to show what you have to offer through the screen. Doing a good selftape is a true artform and will bring you one step closer to your booking. The good news: you can totally prepare for it! We highly recommend to always have an up-to-date presentation video ready, so you only have to add the acting videos, and you can upload your casting within the strict deadlines. CreationDancer Nazarena has been so kind to give you a little demonstration and below you will find the do´s and dont´s to create your own presentation video (which can be in either English or Spanish):
DO
✅Film yourself always horizontally
✅Make sure your face is clearly visible
✅Introduce yourself with your name and agency (The Creation Dancers Agency)
✅Tell a little about yourself, your dance styles and why you love it so much
✅Be relaxed and act like you have a true conversation with someone

STEP 2 - CASTING IN PERSON
Congratulations, you have been selected to do the casting! This means that the client is interested in you and your talent and wants to see more. As mentioned before, we always recommend dancers to go to the casting in person when possible. This is your opportunity to show your amazing personality and undeniable talent. But, let´s not pretend it can´t be super scary as well! Therefore we collected some tips below, as this part is crucial in the process to get booked:
1. GO! Go to as many castings as you can, so you can learn about yourself and the process, making you more and more comfortable each time you go.
2. PREPARE. As your agency we will inform you about the details of the casting, which character they want you to do, dress code, dance styles etc. Make sure you wear the requested clothes, are warmed up, on time, and studied the brand and the character you need to represent. Check older commercials from the brand so you understand what they want to see.
3. PERFORM. As you try to hide your nerves, keep in mind that they wanted to see you first. Now it´s time to let them know they were right to choose you and that there is so much more. Avoid robotic presentations and try to be relaxed, show that you LIKE to be there and LOVE what you are doing. They want to see who you are, are you nice to work with? Can you take directions? Can you give creative input when asked?
4. REFLECT. After doing the casting, reflect with your agency on how it went. When did you feel confident, what made you stress? What did you see with other talents? As we discussed the first step of the booking process over the last weeks, we will continue with giving insight and helpful tips for the second important step:
STEP 2 - CASTING
Once you are selected by the Casting Director to do a casting for the job, we will inform you by WhatsApp or a phone call. Most of the time you have the option for a presencial casting or a selftape casting. Going to the presencial is always the best, however if this is not possible, you got to make sure that your selftape is top notch (more on that later). As a talent you are responsible to have GOOD and QUICK communication with us as your agency. The timeframe between selection and casting is usually very short (1 day - a week), meaning you have to be very quick to apply for the presencial casting as they get full in no time. HOW TO GET GOOD MATERIAL - COMMERCIALS
Besides good photos, it´s for dancers very important to have good video material, so you can demonstrate your skills. A lot of our dancers are blessed with lots of talent in different styles, meaning that we can broaden your booking chances if you have material from all of them. As we did with pictures, you will find below some tips for good video material:
-You have to dance SOLO in the video, so the Casting Director knows who he/she is watching.
-The quality must be good, so your face and body features are clearly visible (no grainy videos).
-Be professional in your movement and music choices.
-Have one short video per style where you show your most impressive skills(no reels).
Having good photo and video material will give you a solid professional sedcard, which will help you in the process to get booked!
