Survival is the most fundamental instinct of all living beings, and for humanity to build a sustainable future, we must first ensure our ability to endure, adapt, and thrive. Inspired by tribal wisdom and our experiences in Attappadi, we recognize that knowledge extends far beyond formal education—it lives in traditions, practices, and lived experiences. By reviving these forgotten arts and learning directly alongside communities, we create pathways for shared growth. At the same time, we integrate modern resources and innovations with this ancestral knowledge, building a bridge between past and present to empower people with practical skills, resilience, and sustainable ways of living for a balanced global society.

“Tribal habitat Workshop” From June onwards
we’re starting a new series of hands-on workshops with tribal elders and communities.
You’ll get to visit their hamlets, learn traditional building methods, work with soil and natural materials, and together we’ll build a complete functional hut from scratch.
We’ll also explore tribal food, music, stories and simple ways of living connected to nature.

Within our “Repurpose” program at @the.lilac.farm , we, the Common Ground commune, partnered with @rattrashi from the @lostkidsgarage community to create a large, vibrant curtain made entirely from old clothes. Rashi led the project, weaving together discarded fabrics, while Sandhya focused solely on the crochet elements, adding intricate details. Other TCG volunteers contributed by handling the stitching. This project is part of our upcycling segment, “Repurpose,” transforming worn textiles into a stunning piece of sustainable art.
