Last week, California LOCALs went statewide. For the first time, ComNetworkLA, ComNetworkSF Bay Area, and ComNetworkSacramento came together for a California-wide Community Connection Hour — nearly 40 California communicators, one virtual room, new connections across the state. Shoutout to the LOCAL leaders who saw the opportunity and made it happen. That's The Network doing what it does. If you're a #Comms4Good practitioner in California, find your LOCAL chapter at the link in bio. We're just getting started. #Philanthropy #Nonprofits #Communication #Comms4Good

Another takeaway from our first-ever Network Leaders Summit: strong communities do not happen by accident. These reflections from Diane D’Costa of @ideoorg and Bryan Simmons from the @arcusfoundation speak to something many of us are navigating right now — how to create spaces that invite honesty and make real connection possible. So grateful for our incredible Board and for everyone who helped make last week’s retreat in Miami so thoughtful, productive, and inspiring. Thank you to our Board members for the care, perspective, and leadership you bring to this community. Your guidance helps shape where The Network is headed and keeps us grounded in what this field needs now and next. We’re also grateful to the ComNetworkMIAMI leaders who joined us, and to @unifyamerica and @blackmiamidade for helping stretch our thinking around bridge-building, inclusion, and whose stories get centered. We left Miami feeling energized, challenged, and excited for all that’s ahead with the support of our board and friends. Stay tuned! #Philanthropy #Nonprofits #Communication #Comms4Good

Next in our Network Leaders Summit Takeaways series, two reminders that communications work has to go deeper than raising awareness. What does it take to move people, build trust, and make meaning in a noisy moment? These reflections get right to the heart of it. Read the full briefing book at the link in bio, and explore our From Insights to Action Practice Guide for team-ready reflections and facilitated session tools. #Philanthropy #Nonprofits #Communication #Comms4Good

We didn’t want these ideas to stay in the room, so we’re sharing five creative, field-tested takeaways to try at your next gathering from our first-ever Network Leaders Summit. - A simple exercise for surfacing real tension. - A low-lift method for deeper shared learning. - A follow-up that can make connection stick. - A better way to measure whether community is actually forming. - And one easy trust-builder that shows people their voice mattered. These are practical ideas pulled from the field and built to be tried. The conversations at ComNet25 have stuck with us long after the conference wrapped. Last year we heard from incredible voices across our field, including Diane Yentel with @natlcouncilnonprofits , Reed Howard from @futurecaucus , and speakers from @natgeo , @ymca , @pbsnews , @nature_org , @macfound , @propublica , and more. They pushed us to think more deeply about courage, trust, and the role strategic communications can play in driving meaningful change. ComNet26 picks up right where we left off — more ideas, takeaways, and conversations that shift how you think, work, and lead. Tickets are 50% sold out! Grab yours at Net26SD.org (link in bio). #Philanthropy #Nonprofits #Communication #ComNet26 #Comms4Good

The magic of ComNet is all about community… new conversations, old friends, shared laughter, thoughtful moments, and the kinds of connections that remind you you’re not doing this work alone. You come for the ideas, learning, and inspiration, but also leave with relationships that continue long after the conference ends. Join us in San Diego Sept 30 – Oct 2 and experience the ComNet magic for yourself. We’d love to have you there!
