Today, April 3rd, we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Jane Goodall and mark the first-ever Jane Goodall Day, a world-wide moment to honor her legacy through action.
A global icon, animal lover, scientist, and mentor for young people, Jane worked tirelessly to make a difference for people, other animals, and the planet we share.
Her spirit of compassion lives on in the countless people she inspired and her namesake conservation organization, the @JaneGoodallInst .
Thank you, Jane, for the remarkable gift of deepening our understanding of the animal kingdom, and ourselves. We hope you’re spending your birthday with all the animals, human and otherwise, that you loved.
Note: Dr. Jane Goodall and the Jane Goodall Institute do not endorse handling or close proximity to wildlife. These images represent a sanctuary or research setting with trained professionals.
Three priorities to improve the climate and life on planet Earth, according to Bill Nye:
1️⃣ Ensure clean water for all.
2️⃣ Make renewable energy reliable.
3️⃣ Connect everyone to the internet.
It’s not rocket science (but it is science). 🌎✨
Overheard at @theclimatepledge Hub during Climate Week NYC.
Companies from nearly 60 sectors have signed The Climate Pledge, and beauty is one of the fastest-growing. Last week proved exactly why.
We hosted our second annual Beauty Summit in Los Angeles, co-hosted by signatory @Saiebeauty , bringing together 46 brands for a full day of honest conversations, practical sessions, and collaborative problem-solving. Ingredients, supply chains, packaging—these are complex challenges, and they don’t get solved in silos.
Something remarkable happens when brands that typically operate independently gather around a shared purpose. They open up. They connect the dots. They find solutions faster, together. By the end of the day, five new beauty brands joined the Pledge because they saw the power of working in community.
Special thanks to Saie for co-hosting, and to every brand that showed up ready to learn, share, and act.
What does it mean to carry life in a world on fire?
For National Geographic Explorer and photographer @nicholesobecki , that question became deeply personal while creating Natura, a long-term project exploring motherhood, reproductive choice, and climate change.
Becoming a mother during the project transformed her relationship to the work:
“The work is no longer something I observe from the outside. Photography, for me, has always been about bearing witness to what words alone cannot hold, and this project has asked more of that than anything I have previously made. The response it generates, in students, in audiences, in the women who trusted me with their most intimate moments, confirms that these questions live in people's private lives, waiting for a space to surface.”
Through Natura, Nichole documents the intimate, often unspoken ways women navigate ecological change, from decisions around pregnancy and parenthood to the realities of raising families in places already being reshaped by climate impacts.
Supported by The Climate Pledge and @insidenatgeo ’s Global Storytellers Fund, her work reflects the power of storytelling to surface deeply human experiences behind the climate crisis.
Happy Mother’s Day.

Sir David Attenborough turning 100 marks a remarkable milestone in a lifetime of work dedicated to the natural world that continues to inspire curiosity, understanding, and care for the planet.
In his own words, “No one will protect what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced”
Swipe for more of our favorite Sir David Attenborough quotes as we celebrate his incredible impact and legacy.
On the bright side, the world reached a new milestone for nature with 10% of ocean now officially protected!

Jennie Abarca built @king_fio_trucking on diesel but after becoming a parent, she made a decision: her next truck would be electric… and she wouldn’t put another diesel on the road.
Today, she operates 11 electric drayage trucks (short-haul port trucks) at the Ports of Los Angeles and @portoflongbeach , where more than 40% of U.S. imports move through.
She’s also a part of the Electrifying Drayage Alliance (EDA), co-founded by The Climate Pledge and Smart Freight Centre, a cross-industry coalition working to scale zero-exhaust-emission freight at ports around the world.

What does a local approach to water actually look like?
For Climate Pledge signatory @heineken , it starts with the full picture; the land, rivers, and communities that all rely on the same water.
In water-stressed areas, that means restoring ecosystems, reducing water loss through infrastructure upgrades, and supporting community access to water where it’s needed most.
