For the past decade I/We have released a lot of music a couple working schmucks. I am proud of everything I have released over the years, but there is something deeply personal about this record that I can't help but feel like I am really putting my heart into my hands and voice with The Amaranthine Trilogy.
We would like to thank Stephen Hamm: Theremin Man for his contribution on "Oumuamua", if you only listen to one song on this record listen to this song on headphones, something wonderous awaits you.
We would also like to thank Cory Kendall, Jeremy Head and Josh Pym for their listening notes. It helps more than you can imagine.
Last but not least our wives Jill Earl and Melissa Unruh, it takes a lot of support and patience to offer the time and resources it takes to record and release an album and we are eternally grateful for them.
NOW GO FOURTH AND LISTEN. LIKE. SHARE. COMMENT. These small gestures help us beyond measure and its free for you to do.
Kelowna people see you tomorrow no excuses...
Prince George made us feel deeply appreciated with curiousity and enthusiasm in equal measure, lots appreciation for the fact we are working outside of the box.
We played with some awesome bands, THANKS YOU to The Goomahs goomahs and Brainium !!!
Hope to see you again the fall!
Most electronic music is built to be clean. The Cavernous is the opposite. It is a dark, imperfect mess of synths and sequencers that feels less like a dance floor and more like a sonic séance.
Based in the Okanagan, the duo of Rob McLaren and Jesse Barette has spent years humanizing electronica. They aren’t hiding behind a laptop; they use a live electronic drum kit and a massive wall of hardware to build layers of tension and psychedelic grit. Their 2025 project, Please Hold, was a concept album about the dread of being on hold, released exclusively via a toll-free phone number. It was a brilliantly inconvenient move in an era of easy streaming.
They are currently moving into a new phase with the Amaranthine Trilogy. The lead single, "Something Special," marks a shift as the duo introduces their own vocals and lyricism into the mix. It starts with a slow-burn psychedelic tension before collapsing into a grungy, distorted explosion.
It is unsettling, meditative, and entirely intentional. If you’re tired of "corporate" electronic sounds, this is the portal you’ve been looking for.
