HIT SHOW, a new musical from Billy Recce, will make its joint world premiere at Southern Plains Productions and The Carnegie in Spring 2027. Eamon Foley is attached to direct.
HIT SHOW is a jazz-fueled fever dream inspired by the 1963 kidnapping of Frank Sinatra Jr. and set against the stirrings of the queer liberation movement. Sexy, volatile, and darkly funny, the musical unfolds like a smoky late-night floor show where fame is currency, identity is dangerous, and the truth keeps slipping out of reach.
Tickets go on sale June 2026.
Did you catch Jordyn Amani Jones’ show-stopping performance last summer in THE COLOR PURPLE? A rising senior at @uc_ccm , Jordyn returns to our stage next month in DEAR EVAN HANSEN. Before then, you can catch Jordyn onstage in THE HOUSE ON WATCH HILL at @ensemblecincy .
DEAR EVAN HANSEN, winner of six Tony Awards, is on stage in Covington from June 19–28. Book today at thecarnegie.com.

🏵️ 🕯️ On view now: Jesse Ly in "The body isn’t a battery that discharges upon death."
"Marigolds signify longevity and protection in China, the sun in Hindu traditions, and, in Mexico, cempasúchil carries a scent said to create a bridge between the living and the dead. Enlarged to fill windows in an earlier project, the image is cut down at the Carnegie into 36 tiles in handmade wooden frames, each overlaid with intimate snapshots from daily life. This reuse carries a Midwest economy, a kind of creative composting, and a Dayton specificity, where Ly has built a life and a home."
