The Brass Iris is a quiet little studio located in Esquimalt- We are ground level, cozy, and focused on accountability, accessibility, and community care.

We are looking for resident artists, & resident guests! Resident guests are artists who do not have regular days at the shop but can work more flexibly and claim unused days at the shop as they need. All stations are shared between artists
***This is not a mentorship opportunity, and sadly we are not set up to sponsor int artists, we’re sorry!***

✨ Our studio is run on shared costs and a non-profit business model, meaning that rent, supplies, and operational costs are split evenly between artists based on studio days.
✨ We supply almost every thing needed to work; exempting machines, colour ink, and currently, coil machine supplies (though we can discuss this if you use a coil! Just no one at the shop currently does)
✨ Most of our supplies are eco friendly/biodegradable!

The flash day is in full swing, and it’s so heartwarming to see so many of your lovely selves here! We’re feeling so grateful for all of you - our clients, our artists, our guest artists, those of you who’ve attended our events, and many more… there are so many of you who’ve been a part of the studio over the years in so many ways. Thank you for supporting this small queer-run studio!
We’ll be open until 7pm tonight with our new merch - handprinted shirts, totes, and patches, as well as mystery merch boxes full of goodies! If you can’t make it in today, we’ll have our merch available in our retail area and at future events until we run out!

✨ Each artist is booking their own appointments, so please reach out to your chosen artist to book!
✨ You must be 18+ to get tattooed, and we are doing limbs only for this event, unless your artist says otherwise!
We will also have some new merch available day of~ Merch will hopefully be available online after, but will definitely be popping up at markets throughout the summer!
