I honestly didn’t believe the iPhone 16 ProRes footage could be as good as my Sony FX3… until I tested it myself.
And I won’t lie — it impressed me.
Two things I noticed though:
• The lens easily catches surrounding light, which can reflect into your footage. Use a lens hood or something that shields the edges.
• The file sizes are massive. Only shoot in ProRes if you have external storage connected — the quality jump isn’t drastic enough to justify the space sometimes.
Huge thanks to the incredible stars on set who brought pure magic to their roles effortlessly.
@sharon_odidi is the brain behind all this, because of her love for acting she forced me😂 to create this scene from "Glamour Girls" originally directed by @bunmiajakaiye

Behind-the-scenes of the editing workflow of high-power viral video.
I handled the VFX myself. AI tools have made the process faster and more flexible—using Nano Banana to create a 2D world, then giving it a 3D illusion in After Effects, similar to classic matte-painting techniques.
The rain effect was created with CC Particles in After Effects, while the glowing-eyes VFX was finished in DaVinci Resolve.

Not everyday I direct and shoot but we surely had fun on this one. This won't have been possible without the amazing team behind this project.

🎬 5 Pro Tips for Grading
Start with Accurate White Balance
– Set a clean white balance before anything else to ensure your colors stay consistent and true to life throughout the grade.
Set Contrast by Pushing Limits, Then Dialing Back
– Don’t be afraid to go too far with your contrast initially—then pull it back to a balanced level that retains depth without crushing detail.
Aim for a Neutral Black Point
– Keep your blacks neutral or close to it; avoid color shifts in your shadows unless it's part of your creative intent.
Use Split Toning to Stylize Your Shadows
– Adding subtle blues to your shadows using split toning helps create a cool, cinematic mood without overdoing it.
Grade with a Reference Image
– Always keep a still from your favorite film, show, or commercial as a visual guide. It trains your eye and keeps your color decisions grounded in proven cinematic aesthetics.

Another masterpiece directed by @filmboylion
I think I learnt sth new from this one, in 2hours with just one video light we were able to create sth good. Sometimes as a cinematography you will face so many uncertainties but just trust in the process, what we do is art and there is not right or wrong, just know your tools.
