Welcome to your next chapter, Ridglan beagles 🥹🥰
Tonight, we welcomed 30 of the beagles from Ridglan Farms. 30 dogs that are starting their new beginning. 30 dogs that are going home into cozy foster homes tonight.
We will continue to update you on their rescue journey. But for now, they are settling in and will be evaluated by our vet team before they are listed for adoption.
Thank you for all of your continued support and love ❤️
These are just S O M E of the faces that have been impacted by ICE over the last several weeks. These photos don't include all of the animals that we've helped or any of the ones other local rescues and shelters have helped. We all are seeing an increased number of requests for help with Minnesota animals.
This doesn't include the large number of cases that don't disclose the reasoning behind their ask for respite care or to surrender their pet. We think the number of cases related to Operation Metro Surge is much higher than what we're aware of due to safety concerns of sharing too much.
Panther (on slide 3) lost his family because they had to flee. But, his mom refused to leave until they found a safe place for him. They risked their safety to ensure their family member would be safe. That's how strong these bonds are.
We know that behind every request for help is love, fear, and someone doing the best they can in an impossible moment. We will keep showing up to protect those bonds, to offer safe landing places, and to stand with our community when it matters most. The goal, if possible, is always reunification because no one should have to choose between their own safety and the animal they love.
We are living in uncertain times. And when we're living in uncertain times we want to reach for things that feel stable. Things that feel secure. We can gain some of that control back by being educated and prepared.
We don't want to think this way, but one of the most loving things you can do for your pet is to have a preparedness plan in place in case something unexpected happens to you and you're no longer able to care for them temporarily or long-term. We recommend the following:
🐾 Identify a trusted friend, family member, or neighbor who could temporarily care for your pet if something unexpected happens
🐾 Share important information with them in advance, including feeding routines, veterinary needs, and emergency contacts
🐾 Let them know about local animal welfare resources, in case they need additional help or need to pursue surrender
In addition to having a plan, it helps to know there are resources out there to help if needed. Our role is to help keep people and animals connected, cared for, and supported... especially when life becomes uncertain. We do this by offering a Respite Foster Program, Surrender Program, and Emergency Pet Food Assistance.
We want you to remember that you are not alone... and neither are your pets. In community we find support. In community we find strength. In community we find love.

Another Ridglan Farms beagle pupdate 🥹 Everyone meet Oriole… or as his foster mama calls him, Benny!
Benny is taking things day by day and every day more of his curious little personality shines through. He has come such a FAR way in less than two weeks.
His foster brother, Willie, is showing him the ropes. Teaching him how to dog. Teaching him how to be silly. Teaching him where to nap. Teaching him what treats are yummy. Teaching him about the soft life.
But most importantly? Willie is teaching Benny that he’s surrounded by love 🥰
Goodbye is never easy... but how lucky are we to have something so special that makes saying goodbye so hard? 🥺
Last summer, Bella joined our respite program. Just as her foster mama was preparing to reunite her with her owner, her mom made the incredibly selfless decision to leave Bella in rescue care... believing she deserved a better, more comfortable life than she could provide at the moment.
At 13 years old, Bella came with medical challenges, including severe arthritis, so she entered our Hospice Program. She joined into a family with two resident doggos... aka built in besties 😍
Boomer, Nala, and Bella spent most of their days going on walks, playing in the snow during the winter and sunbathing in the summer, barking at squirrels, and just watching the world go by through the windows. They lived the good life together.
And the most special part of this story? Her respite foster family turned into her hospice foster family... the family that would stay by her side through her final chapter. Until it was time to cross the rainbow bridge.
Earlier this month, that time came 💔
Bella's body began to fail her. She struggled to stand, stumbled more often, and walking was becoming increasingly difficult. In the most compassionate act of love, her foster family made the hard the choice... the choice to give her a goodbye with dignity. A peaceful goodbye. A goodbye surrounded by the people (and pups) who adored her most.
Bella spent her final day doing her favorite thing. A (very slow) final walk with her foster dog siblings. Laying in the warm sun in the backyard. And just being with the family she'd been a part of for the last year.
Bella had the most golden of golden years 🥹 She loved deeply. She lived fully. She did all her favorite things. She was simply surrounded by love.
Her foster mama shared with us that, “Bella was one of the most beautiful and loving dogs The Bond Between has ever rescued. She has been such a blessing… it was a privilege to be her hospice mom."
Rest easy, sweet girl. We hope you are laying on a deck somewhere, watching the world go by while you soak up all the sun 🌞🌈💛
Week one pupdates on our Ridglan Farms beagles 🥰
Last week, 30 beagles from Ridglan Farms entered their foster homes here at The Bond Between. They started their next chapter… at their own pace.
Every single beagle will have their own milestones and timeline. Some of them are progressing through their journey faster than others and some are taking their time. Their story is unique to them.
Every little step is actually a big step… and those little steps help build their confidence every single day. While their journeys may differ, they have a lot in common. They are brave. They are loved. They got a second chance ❤️
Over 1.5 MILLION kittens enter shelters across the nation every single year... that is over 4,000 kittens PER DAY 🤯
Kitten season is still in full swing... so this Friday, May 15th, we are hosting another Kitten Surrender Event at our Minneapolis location. The goal is still the same: breaking the cycle before it can begin again by spaying and neutering kittens before they get adopted out into their homes.
This event is about more than just the kittens being surrendered. It’s about supporting the people caring for them, too.
🐾 Free pet food (dog and cat) and cat litter available
🐾 FREE spay/neuter vouchers for pets in your home
🐾 A judgment-free space to ask questions, get support, and learn about available resources
This is one small way that we can help lower the number of animals entering shelters every single year. The ripple effect that this creates? Less animals being euthanized due to space.
If you have kittens that need placement, pets at home who aren’t yet spayed or neutered, or maybe you just need support and resources... whatever you need, we’re here to help ❤
Eagle has found his voice 🥹😭🥰
Eagle joined our rescue last week with 29 other beagles from Ridglan Farms. They have all been learning new things over the last few days like:
🐾 what toys are
🐾 what grass is
🐾 how to bark and howl
🐾 how to potty outside (Eagle is still learning this one 🤪)
🐾 how to play
🐾 how to accept pets
🐾 what kisses are
Every single day, we get the honor of seeing their personalities begin to shine through more and more. We get to see them have their “firsts.” We get to see them learn unconditional love 🥹
Your future is here… and it’s bright ✨
154. That's how many days that Neuf has been waiting in foster care 💔
You see, Neuf has had a bit of a rough start. At the end of last year, his owner was going through a rough patch in life and was evicted from their home. Then, the only housing that they had access to did not allow animals.
Neuf's owner made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him... to give him a second chance at life. A life that they couldn't give him at the moment. They broke their own heart so that one day Neuf's could be full again 🥺
Since he joined our care, he has been in three foster homes. All of the change that he experienced over the last several months has caused some reactivity and separation anxiety. All of this is totally normal and expected for a dog that is navigating new situations!
Earlier this year, Neuf had the opportunity to go spend 4 weeks with our friends at @happydoglodge in Cambridge, MN for a board and train. He spent those weeks working on a customized training plan to help his reactivity and anxiety.
He is now back with his foster mama who is working hard to continue the training and discipline. The good news? Neuf is VERY food motivated... so he picks up on things quickly and can be easily redirected.
Don't let the fact that he might need some extra structure scare you away. Neuf is described as a happy, spunky little guy. He loves squeaky toys, running around, and doggo friends. He would do best without cat... he prefers to chase them instead of playing with them 🤪
All he really wants? To snuggle up to his humans and be near them 🥹
When we say rescue is a community effort... we mean it. Neuf is just one example.
Our friends at Happy Dog Lodge helped train him. Our friends at @1510foundation were generous enough to cover that training. Their goal? To ensure that Neuf has the best chance possible at finding his home. And, our friends from The Wilbur Fund are sponsoring part of Neuf's adoption fee to help lower the barrier to adoption.
Talk about a community coming together to set up a dog for success. Now, we need you. Will you help us spread the word so that we can find Neuf his family?! 🙏🥰
Our first pupdate on our Ridglan Farms beagles is on Meadowlark… or Theo as his foster mama calls him 🥹🥰
This week has been filled with firsts for him. First car rides. First treats. First outdoor walks. First time asking for love. First time getting a look-a-like stuffie to snuggle 🥹
Welcome to your new beginning ❤️
Yesterday, we partnered with @bissellpets to fly in 50 animals from Georgia to Minnesota ✈️
Right now, the wildfires in Southern Georgia are forcing families to evacuate and local animals are being displaced. Shelters in the area are doing everything they can to create space for the displaced animals… with the goal of reuniting them with their humans once everyone is safe 🥰
To help keep their shelter space available, we took in 50 animals to our care. These aren’t animals that have been recently displaced due to wildfires. These animals have already been waiting months (and in some cases… years) in the shelter.
Waiting to be noticed. Waiting for a family of their own. Waiting for their chance. And now, that chance is starting again in MN ❤️
