Colour doesn’t have to sit still, trapped within an object. This RnD explores colour as a responsive system, pulled from rendered sequences and integrated into movement. Gradients and smears push past geometry, reinforcing direction and momentum. It’s always rewarding when exploration meets intuition, and ideas take form. What goes into launching a top-tier esports mouse with a pro like Zekken?⁠ ⁠ A trip to LA, a full blend of CGI and live-action, and… a surprisingly detailed mouse rig. 🖱️⁠ ⁠ We just wrapped up the full BTS for the Viper V3 Pro launch — and here are a few things we’re excited to share:⁠ ⁠ [1] Yes, we rigged the mouse with a full skeleton. After doing so many gaming mouse films, we built a template rig to speed up animation across projects.⁠ ⁠ [2] The takedown shot? Those are robots. Shot with green lasers. Why green? (we think you'd know this one)⁠ ⁠ [3] Watch closely and you’ll spot CGI pickups that sell the speed — we often do this to amplify motion without needing to overcomplicate live-action setups.⁠ ⁠ This project stretched across continents as part of a larger campaign, and the LA shoot was a definite 2024 highlight for us. Lately I’ve been pulling 3D renders apart and reworking them into bold, graphic images through heavy Nuke compositing. It’s part of an ongoing R&D project at @masonrystudios , where I’ve been dialing into texture, shape, and abstraction.
