Despite prior promises, my Instagram game remains as inconsistent as ever. But with a plethora of new dishes on the menu courtesy of @laurencrook_ it seems a fitting time to pull my finger out.
1. Lamb rump, roast Roscoff onion, rose harissa & labneh
2. Cornish hake, borlotti beans, datterinis & langoustine aioli
On the à la carte menu now. Come through
It’s been far too long since we posted any dishes so here’s 3 starters currently doing the business.
•octopus carpaccio, taramasalata, blood orange & colatura
•charred mackerel, Iberiko tomato, kohlrabi & dashi
•Smoked beetroot, goats curd, hazelnut & mint
Stunning working as always by @laurencrook_
Come through and see for yourself.
We're absolutely delighted to have held our spot on the @top50gastropubs list. To be named 17th in the UK is a testament to @laurencrook_ & @mihneamach , their amazing teams, and the hard work everyone puts in to maintaining our standards year after year.
Thank you to @top50gastropubs for throwing one hell of a bash, and congratulations to @devonshiresoho for claiming top spot and hosting an epic after party.

A few pics from around the pub in October. Autumn in full effect, fire lit and candles out from 4pm - I’m here for it. Private dining room looking grand and an exclusive hire event on the ground floor - we do them if you ask nicely.
Stunning new dishes coming out the kitchen:
•Swaledale pork loin, Jerusalem artichoke, hummus & dukkah
•Sea bream crudo, miyagawa satsuma & colatura
Come and see us.
Some bits from around the pub the last couple weeks. The menu easing into Autumn whilst holding on to the last of the late Summer produce. Change in the air, nights slowly drawing in and the fire soon to be lit, but for now let’s hold on to what’s left and most notably Cantabrian anchovies, smoked tomato & zhoug on toast - as simple and delicious as it sounds (and looks. Picture 2)
Whilst I’ve been wildly neglecting Instagram @laurencrook_ has been quietly working her magic on the menu. So many good things bringing a lot of summer time joy…
1. Cornish fine beans, ricotta salata, nectarine & hazelnut
2. Charred mackerel, carosello cucumber, lovage & horseradish
3. Peach melba soft serve
Our summer Sundays BBQ menu is back for 2025 and running across August 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st. In place of roasts we’ll be serving a BBQ menu primed for warm summer days (fingers crossed) and drinks strong enough to make you forget you’re back to work the day after. We’ll also be opening a few special large format sour beers by the glass and dipping into the depths of the wine cellar to offer some fun and rare bottles at embarrassingly low prices.
Bookings are open online.

A new week and we could not be happier than to announce @laurencrook_ as our head chef at the Baring. With a stellar CV behind her and having worked alongside Rob and Jay for the past 18 months we are delighted to have her running the kitchen. Not only a brilliant chef, Lauren is a calm and reassuring presence and a joy to work alongside.
Here’s to Lauren.
