“Ride Out On Me” was written over the course of a couple of sessions. It does represent a pretty significant shift in how we worked. We’ve gone pretty DIY, backing ourselves as writers and players and just fucking hit it and hope. The DIY thing isn’t entirely new, but represents a move back to our original vision. We’re entirely self managed: producing, writing, mixing, and even doing all the visual assets ourselves now…. Even photography and video (as you can probably tell!) We co-wrote ‘Ride It Out’ with our dear friend Elliott Hammond in December, and finished it over a session last month. This started the process of album number 2. We worked at our home base studio, Aviary Studios, in Abbotsford. Zac Camm engineered the tracking sessions and the main guitars and drums were all tracked live, in the same room, and take 3 made the cut. 1. workshopping a new one 2. chat over listen back 3.
