12 crazy years of making records. Making memories. Making friends. Being a part of the Melbourne music community. What an honour and a privilege! Thank you to everyone who has passed through The Aviary over the years. Things have changed alot since we started. On so many levels. Yet it feels like a new chapter is beginning and we are stoked to still be here and be part of it. @zac.camm_productions @fraser_monty @stephen_mowat_ music by @piscosour.band

It’s not always black and white. But sometimes, it is.

Thought we’d crack the door open for a minute and let you have a look into the creation of Album #2. It’s hard to explain what happens in these rooms half the time but by golly, it’s starting to feel like a record now. Have you listened to our NEW single ā€œRide Out On Meā€ yet?

ā€œRide Out On Meā€ was written over the course of a couple of sessions. It does represent a pretty significant shift in how we worked. We’ve gone pretty DIY, backing ourselves as writers and players and just fucking hit it and hope. The DIY thing isn’t entirely new, but represents a move back to our original vision. We’re entirely self managed: producing, writing, mixing, and even doing all the visual assets ourselves now…. Even photography and video (as you can probably tell!) We co-wrote ā€˜Ride It Out’ with our dear friend Elliott Hammond in December, and finished it over a session last month. This started the process of album number 2. We worked at our home base studio, Aviary Studios, in Abbotsford. Zac Camm engineered the tracking sessions and the main guitars and drums were all tracked live, in the same room, and take 3 made the cut. 1. workshopping a new one 2. chat over listen back 3. Ride It Out Set Up 4. Basic bass track before Omar Hanlon worked his magic 5. Between Take Chats 6. Dave can’t play without stomping so we devised a work around 7. Another brand new one being worked out 8. Olaf bought a leslie up the aviary’s stairs 9. waiting for the drop 10. working out the key of another new one 11. El putting some touches on yet another newy 12. Sneak preview of the potential next single - the writing session
