A vintage Happy Birthday to me! I guess mom wanted a photo with me and the devoured Angel Food birthday bunt cake. I was goofing off as normal and she is NOT happy. Grandpa, the photographer, and grandma with her Cataracts glasses loved me so much (their only grandchild) that I could get away with anything. The home made Crochet Zodiac Carpet that hung on the wall my whole life eventually dry rotted and was thrown away. This image documents the last time I ever wore a turtleneck.
Last week i stood in front of Ringo’s drums, yesterday I stood in front of Ringo - this kind of serendipity oddly happens in my career. Hearing Ringo tell stories was surreal and striking - events i’ve only read about now live in front of me told by the protagonist. One of my career goals was to work with a Beatle or a Rolling Stone, yesterday it came to fruition. Rock and Roll started in 1956, Ringo joined The Beatles in 1962 - He is a piece of living rock and roll history. In this weird “full circle moment” photo, Kevin Smith is holding my slate, watching “Clerks” is part of my inspiration to move to LA and enter the industry. #Hollywood #snoochieboochies
I own(ed) Elvis’s car keys! About 20 years after the King’s untimely death on the can, the estate had Hunka Hunka piles of extra Elvis items that weren’t needed for display at Graceland. They held a 3 day Elvis auction in Las Vegas, Jump suits, furniture, go carts things - the estate went as far as even emptying the old file cabinets - where my items were stored.
The Catalog for this Auction was as thick as 3 fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, hundreds of items. On day one auction prices were bid up to higher than the cost of a brand new Pink Cadillac, I sat quietly and watched as phone bidders stole up Elvis items from all over the globe. Soon we in-person bidders hated our indirect foes on the phones.
By the last day, the bids calmed down as people ran out of Money Honey. Up came my last chance, It’s Now Or Never, it was a pair of car keys and the checks used to purchase the very first ever custom made Stutz Blackhawk car. Sure enough this lot trickled down to me, somehow I was the final bidder with my arm tentatively held high in the air and people around me cheered a little - I was All Shook Up. The auction ended and we went our Separate Ways.
For over 25 years I had these keys. They would travel with me to several domiciles and I’d see the white envelope and think “those are Elvis’s keys!” Then I’d misplace them for 5 years. So considering all that, I’ve decided to sell them. Right now they are up for sale in a “Movies and Motorcars” auction that final bid will be at Petersen’s Automotive Museum in LA on Thursday Nov 6. Four Different Lots 71,72,73,74.
Here’s a link to the keys, the real value is the 2 checks. Place your bids and Don’t Be Cruel, Hound Dogs. There are a few more tidbits about all this in the comments section. That’s me handing over the car keys to the auction house.

Kneeling between pitches in the 5th, the rail protecting me from falling from the top deck.
A Latina in rhinestone cowboy boots piped up:
"You look cute with your little cap of ice cream, let me take your picture"
And grabbed my phone out of my hand fumbling to open it with her 2 inch long nails resembling dinosaur teeth.
I protested saying I have to get the ice cream to my son.
Snapping away, she mumbling something about "wish I had someone getting ice cream for a son"
Her frustrated cohort now fought over my phone stating "here, I can do it better!"
As I headed to my seat I said "you just made a core memory"
They disappeared around the 7th inning stretch, just like Mary Hart
Dodgers lost, love lost
I do like the 2nd picture better
