8 years ago, my parents told me I couldn’t have an Instagram account. I wasn’t allowed to open any social media accounts until I was done high school. Although my parents were supportive of my DJ journey, I had to beg them to let me open an Instagram account during high school. I told them I needed it to promote my new DJ business.
I got my first few followers by doing the usual. Asking my friends, family, and classmates to follow. I pretty soon realized that this wasn’t going to get me very far. Next step: message them and ask them to repost my page. That also did not get me that far. Bummed out, I sat there, convincing myself that everything will work out in the future…
Over the next couple years, I would post mixes, occasional dj videos, and stories about all my gigs. I stopped chasing the numbers and started chasing the music. My brand was growing through TikTok and IG, but lacked a sense of direction. That’s when I met @jethu2jet . He taught me to grow with realistic goals and taught me the art of consistency and branding. I understood what developing a brand really meant and I started looking at the bigger picture.
3 years later, we’re now here. I know growth isn’t based off numbers. But that 100K means the world to my BRAND. Thank you to every single follower; for every like, share, and comment. Thank you to every client that has trusted the DJ Kharish & 3D Sound brand. I’ll continue to elevate everyone’s experience and exceed everyone’s expectations. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the team and I. Unlike 8 years ago, I don’t need to convince myself that everything will work out. I know it will 🥂
