‘Feel Free’ (to haunt me) is a quiet conversation with my late father, reflecting on teenage winters begrudgingly working on his lobster boat, our distance as adults, and longing to relive even imperfect moments, even if only in my dreams.
As last year wound down, that familiar “what did I accomplish?” dread crept in. Another year and no new songs? So I did the only thing that has ever worked; self-imposed deadline. I booked a recording studio (on 3 days notice) and with help from some old friends, finally brought this song to life, one that had been doing donuts in my skull for far too long.
Thanks for listening, sharing, and supporting TAP after all these years. xo

Looking back on this as a parent now. Probably not the safest thing but sure was hella fun 🤙. Early 2000s gutted out a shuttle bus, tossed in an office chair, made a bunk, and stress test the AAA membership. I can’t remember why we called it Eugene but this thing was as shitty as it looked. One time in Orlando FL, we parked this thing in a field on top of a septic tank. It got stuck and wheels were shooting literal crap everywhere. To be young 🤝🫡❤️
In honor of this new song “Feel Free”, we made a new tee design! Back when I was a teenage dirtbag, I used to wear old car-show/van-life tees (someone’s dad had given me a trash-bag full of them when I was 16). I always loved the style of that art and wore those shirts to death. The closest modern example I still had was one of my favorite tees by the band thespecialgoodness So as if I hadn’t already borrowed enough from camp @weezer I asked graphic whiz @tedmacdonald.design to make us a lobster-boat-lyfe version. He made several awesome mockups and you can see how we ended up. If you’d like to get in on this ultra-niche mash-up, we have a merch store at TheAppreciationPost.com 🤘🛳️🤘#powerpop #lobstercore #newmusic #newmerch #alternative #theappreciationpost #teenagedirtbag #vanlife
