I packed some old CDs for a Xmas holiday road trip last week. One was an old Ninja Tune retrospective and featured The Herbaliser single "Something Wicked This Way Comes" with
@seamingto on vocals. I worked the music PR on it for Jake, Ollie and the band and
@will_tipper their manager back in 2002! Hearing the song again I got remembering us pulling in my art college buddy & graffiti artist
@maumauart to hand draw an animated video to help promote the single. He was all in, but none of us quite realised the man hours involved. He'd sit for days in our Lavender Hill office and draw day and night. From skating Brighton's sea front to our natty little band, 'Stale Fish Grab' including randoms like me and
@daddyskitz69 ; these were happy days. Rediscovering this song was so good, but as my world now is both pictures and music it felt so refreshing watching the animation again 23 years later. The purity of Marks hand drawn animation. Analogue I guess. I really think it holds up well, but I guess I would ....The best part is it made me pick up the phone to my old mate back in Devon who's still skating to the post office, making art for shows worldwide and super happy. A dip back into the not to distant past for me, before the year kicks in. And apologies for the films resolution as Mau Mau said when I asked if he had a higher res version that that was a lot of hard drives ago. Happy 2026 to one and all and hopefully something wicked and beautiful is just round the corner. #f*ckai
