"Safety first" is AES' primary value.
This week, teams across AES came together to recognize our annual Safety Day and recommit to our shared responsibility to protect one another through our strong culture of care and accountability.
This year’s theme, “Leading with Safety, Together,” highlights that safety leadership exists at every level, from using our "Stop Work" authority to applying smart innovation that helps identify and reduce risk at every stage.
Congratulations to Bellefield 1 and Chivor for their outstanding leadership and commitment to safety excellence. Bellefield 1, one of the largest solar-plus-storage projects in the United States, is the winner of our annual Golden Hard Hat award, which recognizes the team’s strong safety record. Chivor, our hydropower plant in Colombia, achieved more than 1.5 million hours without a Lost Time Injury. These are outstanding examples of safety leadership.
Thank you to our teams around the world for continuing to lead with safety every day.
We’re using AI to help accelerate the future of energy. Not just in theory, but in practice.
By putting AI tools in the hands of our people, we’re empowering teams to rethink how work gets done across safety, construction and operations.
This is what AI in action looks like. ⬆️
At AES, we’re continuously evolving our energy systems to better support the environments where we operate and ensure the reliability of the grid.
In AES Ohio’s service territory, for example, ospreys often often build nests on distribution poles near large bodies of water. We’ve installed dedicated nesting platforms positioned safely away from energized lines, creating a safer environment for both the birds and the grid.

In our Louisville, Colorado office, dog-friendly spaces support a culture rooted in connection, care, and flexibility for everyone.
Because at AES, our people are our energy.
The future of energy is already in motion.
AI. Electrification. Industrial growth. All driving a new wave of energy demand.
AES is building solutions designed to meet needs across industries.
We're powering what’s next. ⚡
From Hawaii and Virginia to Kentucky and California, AES teams and partners marked #ArborDay by taking action in their local communities.
🌳 Kauaʻi, HI: Students took part in a hands-on learning event centered on “Planet vs. Plastics.”
🌳 Bon Air Park & Bluemont Park, Arlington, VA: 235 native plants in the ground at Bon Air Park and 375 at Bluemont Park to support healthier ecosystems.
🌳 McCracken County, KY: A community tree planting supported by an AES grant through the @arbordayfoundation .
🌳 California City, CA: 100+ fruit and shade trees planted through @reachgardens , many at residents’ homes.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to make a day very special!
A new arrival 🐣
The first peregrine falcon chicks of the season have hatched at AES Indiana Petersburg and Harding Street generating stations.
Once endangered, peregrine falcons are still carefully monitored today, and each chick plays a role in helping scientists track the species’ health and movement.
Over the next 40 days, the chicks will grow, be cared for by their parents and prepare for their first flight.

Partnerships power progress 🌱
At AES, we’re working with communities to create real environmental impact:
🐢 Protecting biodiversity + restoring ecosystems
🐑 Pairing solar energy with agriculture through grazing
📚 Inspiring future leaders through environmental education
It’s all about building a more resilient future, together.
